One of my all time favorite cartoons. This and Rocko's Modern Life were truly 5 star.

Helga had some serious issues. She is the ex-girlfriend that won't go away, the stalker in the park. If they voted for "Most likely to get shot by a cop", Helga would win the award in a landslide. It wasn't just her, the whole cast had deep rooted problems that psychologists drool over. This made me appreciate them more. The whole series on DVD is probably worth the money.

Seems like I don't have anything more interesting to do than analize an old cartoon's emotional problems and I do the same way with the characters of every novel I read...but I guess that behind every of them there was an author just trying to say something. I mean that when I watch or read something the real fun for me is to develope every side of it instead of stay forever in it's superficial and evident meaning.

I wholly agree with the fact that Helga shouldn't be judged. She goes through tough times in the household because Big Bob gives Olga all of the attention while she is treated like pond scum. She is clearly a confused adolescent and can only show her sympathetic side by being mean towards Arnold and if that's the only way she can show her love, so be it. I personally see Helga for her beautiful soul within.
