that is drop C tuning, otherwise it would be C tuning. Just like Drop D means only E string is tuned down to D. So it is Drop C :p

I still don't see why he didn't put and acoustic version on the album, I mean it's the perfect one-man-band song; he covers the rythem with the right hand pattern, the bass with the dropped e string, and the melody with the other strings, and I think the band kinda ruins it.

actually, john has stated that he always tunes his own guitars. But I agree with you that this was outta tune..I think maybe this guitar would have benefitted from having heavier gauge strings, as this tune is in C i think...

it's not tuned in c, the song is standard tuning except that the lowest e is dropped to C. but that's the only one that's differently tuned. and this song is not played on that string except a few bass notes.

Haha I've been playing guitar much longer than that fool down a few comments below me and anyone with a ear for music can tell that it's not off! He's fucking playing it with his thumb! that's why it sounds off on some notes you retard! Some notes hes fine but at that time he admitted on camera once that he wasn't very good with that because he accidentally pushed with his thumb resulting in a slight bend which threw the notes off a little bit! It's not out at all!

I know it's being nitpicky and I'll probably get thumbs down-ed, but the real name for the tuning of this song is "Standard with Low E tuned down to C". It's not the same as "Drop C". That's tuning both Low E AND D down to C.
