You're right a great city likes this does need a better airport. On a tv programme here in the UK it was voted 10th worst airport to land at in the world due to volume of traffic comiing in and out of it and its location. I guess that means 9th worst now because Kai Tak was also on the list and that was closed.

I miss this city so much....I had a vacation there and I agree that it is the nest city in the USA!!! It's not like Chicago where it's all dirty and smoggy, SD is pretty clean and right on the ocean...it's so cool!!! I hope to go to collage/live there. I stayed at the Barona and the only downside was it being in the mountains and I having sensitive ears I had constant ear pain and nausea. I even have to wear ear plugs in air planes...anyway nice vid!!

@afarr454 I lived in NYC for 20 yrs. prior to moving to SD, so I thought SoCal would be a good change for me. It lasted two years. Sorry, but I got bored in SD. If it had been purely about the weather, yes, SD would've been nice, but there are other factors. I moved to SF, and lived there for two years. In the end, CA was not a good experience for me. I'm loving Chicago, thanks!

yea just went through for the bowl game on wednesday, short runway and tiny airport but i heard rumors of planning a new project.... by the way dont complain about being from the boondocks till you know what boondocks are... your an hour or two from a massive city with beautiful weather and a harbor... nearest large city to me is denver which is three and a half hours away, nearest town is 17 miles and has a population of 120 people
Enjoy! I used to live in Orange County (Irvine, CA) which is about an hour from San Diego. I'm sure you will have a good time. San Diego is a nice city although I never lived there I used to visit when I lived in Orange County. I now live in the Sacramento Area which is beautiful but the weather is warmer in Southern Cali which I miss. I will be in Orange County in December to go to Disneyland. Eventually I will move back, I have just done so well is Sacramento I can't afford to leave right now.

I live here in San Diego. It is a great city -- beautiful climate, no smog like in L.A., smaller than L.A., next to the ocean, etc.. My 23-year old niece just moved out here from Pennsylvania. She got a job at a bank within her first week, and she got an apartment as well. She is loving it, too, and is not missing the crappy weather back in Pennsylvania! You'll LOVE San Diego!

Born in SD; I've flown in/out of Lindberg since the 1950's when my mother raced in Powder Puff cross-country air races out of there in the family Navion; took one of the first 707's out of there in early 60's (barely enough runway!); through last flight in 2007 to show my grown kids the bridge at University and Park Place my grandfather built. Stalling in down the hill to Lindberg has always been part of the fun, along with the steep climb out over Loma Portal. Beautiful city.
Bit of a scary approach. The first time I flew in an airplane on that approach, I thought, for a moment, we were going to fly right into the center of the city.
Oh... and if you're ever in America, try to focus on getting an education here rather than worrying about planting bombs at the airport and shit! At least you'd learn how to spell & type better than you do now!

I've seen SF and SD and LA and LV's skyline, and San Diego is the same thing!
Tip: I think viewing the skyline from San Diego Freeway is a lot better than going to the other side of the island. People need to see more newer skyline angles rather than taking the same pictures that are not rare.

Lindbergh field is the most awsome to fly in and out of. Flying through downtown by the water the views are spectacular. Take off over the hill and then out over the coast at ocean beach pier is so great. Sandiego wants to build a new airport out east of town in the country and close this one. Vote to keep our great single runway airport. IT WORKS FOR US JUST FINE.
Spectacular view! When I was reporting to my duty station at NAS North Island and flying into Lindbergh Field from Pensacola, I was able to catch a nice glimpse of the city skyline from above for the very first time! What a great feeling that was! Not to mention it was only the 2nd time I had ever flown in a plane before, haha!
I live there too. What taxi? Just ask the flight attendant to open up the door, you jump out at Pacific Highway and Beech Street, and catch the San Diego trolley at the Little Italy station a block away. I got a little banged up, but heck, I saved $30!
It is a rather steep landing. But once you're there, all is well! The view from the right side has a good view of Balboa Park, Olde Globe Theatre etc.
Wish I could live there. FUCK U EAST COAST!

I live here in San Diego. It is a great city -- beautiful climate, no smog like in L.A., smaller than L.A., next to the ocean, etc.. My 23-year old niece just moved out here from Pennsylvania. She got a job at a bank within her first week, and she got an apartment as well. She is loving it, too, and is not missing the crappy weather back in Pennsylvania! You'll LOVE San Diego!

Born in SD; I've flown in/out of Lindberg since the 1950's when my mother raced in Powder Puff cross-country air races out of there in the family Navion; took one of the first 707's out of there in early 60's (barely enough runway!); through last flight in 2007 to show my grown kids the bridge at University and Park Place my grandfather built. Stalling in down the hill to Lindberg has always been part of the fun, along with the steep climb out over Loma Portal. Beautiful city.

Why is San Diego's skyline so underrated?

I've seen SF and SD and LA and LV's skyline, and San Diego is the same thing!
Tip: I think viewing the skyline from San Diego Freeway is a lot better than going to the other side of the island. People need to see more newer skyline angles rather than taking the same pictures that are not rare.

Lindbergh field is the most awsome to fly in and out of. Flying through downtown by the water the views are spectacular. Take off over the hill and then out over the coast at ocean beach pier is so great. Sandiego wants to build a new airport out east of town in the country and close this one. Vote to keep our great single runway airport. IT WORKS FOR US JUST FINE.

Spectacular view! When I was reporting to my duty station at NAS North Island and flying into Lindbergh Field from Pensacola, I was able to catch a nice glimpse of the city skyline from above for the very first time! What a great feeling that was! Not to mention it was only the 2nd time I had ever flown in a plane before, haha!

I live there too. What taxi? Just ask the flight attendant to open up the door, you jump out at Pacific Highway and Beech Street, and catch the San Diego trolley at the Little Italy station a block away. I got a little banged up, but heck, I saved $30!

It is a rather steep landing. But once you're there, all is well! The view from the right side has a good view of Balboa Park, Olde Globe Theatre etc.
