  • Great times to be children thank yiu for posting

  • These shows continue to entertain now. Who in forty years time is going to remember or want to watch The X Factor as a repeat?

  • I was a little kid in Nigeria when i seen...

  • Magnifique, j'ai ENFIN retrouver une de mes séries préférées de mon enfance :-)))

  • Classic stuff!

  • There were heavy on the drums and horns back then.

  • When this first came on tv, my bro and I were watching the other channel, he suggested we turned it over to the other side, to see what this stingray was all about, we were hooked, brill.

  • I have an old set for this from years ago...

  • My childhood memories relived, those 40 years more like 40 seconds ago when I see this again!

  • Does everyone know thatr the guy who did the voice for Phones (Robert Easton) also played Sparks in the original Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea movie. Just noticed he passed away on December 16th (2011) so RIP and thanks for the great voice Characterization. (He also did the voice for Agent X 2 Zero)

  • Who are these 34 people?? Clearly they don't know classic tv when it's thrown at them!

  • @Shells2387 And they do not know GOOD tv either!

  • Gerry Anderson has to be knighted! Cameron and Clegg get this right! Because... anything can happen in the next half hour!

  • Troy was a real a-hole, Phones was cool, but Marina was absolutely tops. (: And poor Atlanta. You just can't compete with a hot mermaid chick that doesn't *TALK*. (:

  • 0:38 funky speed cameras far out man itr's the 60'z

  • Now that's a theme tune!!

  • Marina was the ultimate woman!

  • blowing up fishes with torpedoes... just... wow

  • @draconpost Robot fishes! They should have sent a poet....

  • @draconpost Those aren't fishes! Those are the submarines of the "aquaphibians," a submarine warrior race under the command of King Titan. Geez, are you dumb!....

  • @bangsmoke well I was raised watching Godzilla and other kaiju, for me it could be anything :D I never watched the show, to be honest I never even heard of it, just saw the intro here

  • Still have my toy stingray, probably antique now

  • Great

  • If only I was born before this time, I had to put up with Count Duckula and Danger mouse

  • I feel very lucky to have been a kid during the time of Stingray, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. What have the poor little sods got now? Grand Theft Auto & Hollyoaks! Gerry for a Knighthood!

  • They had more than one Stingray sub - I think the fleet numbered six! They were specialised craft.

  • God I can remember how cheesy this was!

  • hmz i'm a lady who loves to have fun

  • They can decend their entire base into an underground bunker but they only have one Stingway submarine?

  • this video literally sums up my childhood

  • Gerry Anderson was a genius - dont forget supercar and fireball XL5 - thats50 years ago. he was so ahead of his time.

  • I certainly think that he should.

  • I reckon Scott Tracy would have Troy Tempest in a fight any day

  • @ConstantineBooth It'd be a draw once their strings got tangled... :)

  • Stand by for... COLOR!

  • Shtand by for Action!

  • i have the boat from this serie its now fery expensive

  • They really need more little models blowing up in Kids TV

  • Ah, a new ring-tone. That'll piss 'em off. I''ve had so much fun revisiting the shows I watched as a child. Remember the good old days when your father came home drunk and kicked you around the house and everyone laughed because it was quite normal. The next day you went to school and the teachers hit you with thick leather straps. Oh, Manchester so much to answer for. At least kids had good tv shows in those days, ha-ha.

  • Steve Irwin's favorite show as a kid

  • @arthur131313 LOL, cold.........

  • in school my teacher said you have 30 minutes for your task and I said anything can happen in the next half hour and started singing stingray!

  • Comment removed

  • steve irwin theme song

  • 32 people work for titan. Lol.

  • As kids TV programs go, they don't come much better than this as far as intros are concerned, this is the best of the lot! - it still captivates me after 40 years. :-)

  • @Bevoin1970 Well, I'm 51 and I'm still captivated, too, lol. I still reckon that Stingray was better than Thunderbirds but I don't know why. Maybe because I fell in love with Marina when I was only 5 years old? Lol!

  • @Turrican60 I myself wouldn't go so far as to say better, I loved both equally, they were different to each other but overall from the same stable so to speak. I spotted the Puppet strings, but it never bothered me, it was the story, the monsters, the machines that captivated me, oh and a fantastic intro too. Im 50 now, but I could still happily sit and watch these all over again, even though we have so much modern technology around us, some things are just priceless. Gerry Anderson is a Legend.

  • Hey, I didn't quite catch the name of this show... Is it STINGRAY!?

  • hahaha this would be perfect on my channel..lol.......stingray

  • Anyone else think Gerry Anderson should be Knighted? Let's face it, the man gave us, so many TV series... Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, UFO, Space Precinct, Terrahawks, Space 1999 etc...........

  • @lincsposter I second that motion. Pure genius. Better than Fred the Shred any day.

  • @lincsposter Wait do they even knight people in america? i thought they didnt

  • @u7alll No they don't, but Gerry Anderson is not American - he's British!

  • @lincsposter i know sorry i realised as i clicked post and tried deleting it, god i hate it when i think someone awesome is american and hes british, im british u see.

  • @lincsposter yeah he should be!

  • @lincsposter Oh Hell Yeah ! A Knighthood is long over due for Gerry Anderson ! The guy changed the way we looked at Televison, he created shows and stories that brought out the kid in all of us ! And new generations will continue to embrace his creations ! Thats what i did when i first saw Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and Stingray back in the early 90's ! And Terrahawks which i remember watching first time round in the early 80's :)

  • @lincsposter YEH HE SHOULD. is he still alive?

  • @nzhaggis2 Gerry Anderson is still alive and well! Thanks for the support!

  • what was phones saying T w o r never worked it out

  • I know a Bar called Stingray........and it rocks!! same theme too!

  • Marina got on my tits I am more of a thunderbirds person. Good intro though

  • Troy Tempest is the man!

  • @NickR1980 lol!

  • I hear the Iranian navy is trying to purchase one.

  • last song Steve Earwin ever heard..

  • @coose08 sick.......but funny.

  • when the alarm went off i never knew wether to panic or do a little dance

  • A few things i always thought about Stingray.

The guy who played the action stations bongos must have been knackered as they were always going to action stations. Also it must have been a bummer trying to get your car in the garage with it going up and down like a fiddlers elbow,

And finally agent X was not much of a secret agent was he as the silver skin is a bit of a give away right from the out set and he had to convert half his house before he could even just say hello to the boss.

  • wow... Stingray... a goverment opperation, before the days of economic budget cuts...

  • Anything can happen in the next half hour! Classic line!

  • @lincsposter You said it!

  • @lincsposter Great opening

  • This has got to be the most action packed, explosive Gerry Anderson series opening :D

  • I always thought those two low-flying jets were the best bit of the intro sequence - they looked kick-ass and were followed immediately by classic Anderson random industrial structures blowing up. Looovely! :)

  • OMG, I am 8 years old again.

    thanks.

  • When people actually put an effort into kids shows...

  • where' sthe Aqua Marina song? I'm sure it was at the end of each show..

  • I've got a fuckin good orchestral version of this, it's much better than this, but it's on an old tape and I've gotta get an old tape recorder and onto my laptop somehow, then upload it onto Youtube.

  • Awesome show.

  • I like the part when they say stingray

  • Magic!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Stingray and the Terrorfish are are great - I have drawn both on my site...

  • absolute magic

  • wonderful.

  • I haven't seen this in over 40 years, just stumbled on it now, brings back memories.

  • STINGRAY was a KICK ASS Submarine... ;)

  • Troy tempest looks like he`s strung out on something. "go left here troy, left you fool, not right"

  • berrygood

  • Congrats on over 1 million views!

  • i used to cry to aqua maria!

  • Grear Show when Puppets appeared real. CGI id great move forward but i stil want Troy, Bones and Maria the way i remember them.

  • TV was good back then

  • I came here because this was my favourite when I was a kid...oh wait, I'm still a kid, but much older...lol

  • I used to <3 this show.

  • Despite the fact I was born just less than 30 years after this was first aired, even I want to come back for some nostalgia from when my parents first showed it to me XD

  • 実に良いよ!!!

  • @hiroki0823able You got that right!

  • Anything can happen in the next half hour! o_o

  • thumbs up if you had the toy set and little sting ray toy to

  • @davepowell89 Yes, I DID! And I had the submarine Seaview as well!

  • I love how the singers wind up the song:

    Stingray...

    Stingray!

    STING-RAY!

    (damnit, Stingray!)

  • The music is great, those guys in the music department knew how to do it the, most of the shows from this years have a great sound.

  • Superb,,...still watch all the Anderson stuff 50 years on..just a big kid really!!!

  • It was so easy to learn the lyrics to the theme songs back then!

  • @odantoro LOL

  • That's when TV could fire the imagination!

  • Steve Irwiiiiiiiiin, Steve Irwin, na na na na na na....

  • @yorkshire13579 Poor Steve didn't "stand by for action" and Stingray (Stingray! Sting-ray!) got him!

  • Just watching these trailers brings back so many memories, what "fab" ! productions Jerry A produced .As for the the opening sequence of Stringray .the "anything can happen in the next1/2 hour " has stuckin my brain for the next 40 Years!!!

WE did not need direct on screen blood & gore , we had imagination then , nor did we need scripts that had F....ck bang ..f..ck you as there major script content .

A bit of kids innocence seems to have been thrown out of life at their loss !!

  • This show has an incredibly driving, dynamic theme song (which I have on several CDs) but it's paired with the absolutely lamest-looking visuals possible.

  • @hebneh Come on now this was the early 60's. The editors did a great job matching the music with the visuals. Look the opening sequence for UFO. The theme tune also written by Barry Gray.

  • @ewaf88 I was a kid at the time these "Supermarionation" shows were being shown in the '60s, and I thought they were extremely lame at that time. So unfortunately I am still not impressed by them today either, in the 21st century.

  • Da fuck is Charlie?! Stingray was awesome

Although, I think I liked Captain Scarlet a little better...

  • its called stringray but it says wasp in the back ground lol 0:15

  • I've never forgiven them for killing Steve Irwin. Damn puppets.

  • Neon Genesis Evangelion ripped off Stingray.

  • Forget the puppets, still one of the best opening themes of any TV series.

  • Ah think ah've gotta contact Troy.

    Fire Sting 1 !!!

  • I so wanted to go in stingray as a kid

  • How many of the Americans watches this because this was made by a Veteran in the RAF.

  • I wish they could have building go under ground like Marina city when ever Hurricanes hit .

  • Anything could happen in the next half hour.

  • Who is charlie???

  • I know these comments are awful but... 29 people are relatives of Steve Irwin

  • I never used to notice that their heads were twice the size of their torsos...

  • THis brings me back great memories :D

  • While the British were introducing American kids to cool action shows,American tv producers were putting out crap like the Munsters,The Monkees,The Beverly Hilbillies and Gilligan's Island

  • @NoIDidunt10 What are you on about ? The Monkees is great and so are the Hillbillies ; the Munsters was a copy of the Addams Family but still good fun and The Man From Uncle was also great.

  • Stingray is the fucking nuts!

  • my childs soul is having a cartoon gasm , i loved how the buildings went underground for safety , forgot all about this , except the sinking buildings and the sub , i think i even had the sub as a toy

  • It was last year that in Doctor Who they referenced both Stingray and Thunderbirds in the episode "The Lodger" where the Doctor says to the time ship's Avatar he is "Captain Troy Handsome of International Rescue,".

  • lÕl_àñy_gÜYs_want_tø_chÁt_wÌth_mÊ

  • wtf.....?????????????????????///

  • thumbs up if you came here for a shot of nostalgia and weren't sent :)

  • @Autonova To be honest I came here looking for a job with the World Aquanaut Security Patrol' and was told there's a recession on. Don't blame me if a fleet of Titan's Terror Fish come down the Thames unapposed.

  • @Autonova Haha. Smiley words :o)

  • anything can happen in the next half hour!

  • If Stingray was off the coast of Libya,Gadafty would shit himself!!

  • @dutch99958 Best Comment Ever

  • Dig those conga drums!

Marineville must have had a band of conga drummers on call 24/7 to play at the sign of an alert.

P.S.: My Dad called this show "Stinkray" and would sing "Stinkray, Stinkray!".

I grew up in Boston, if I seem to recall that this show originally aired on Sunday afternoons once a week in Boston, and for a few months, three times a week in late afternoon (5 P.M.?) in Providence.

  • A Better time a better place than we will ever see again thank you for the chance to live my childhood if only for a few seconds it even brought my father back to me for the few precious seconds this clip ran thank you

  • well said

  • According to Gerry Anderson, "Stingray" and "Thunderbirds" took place in the same universe. Gordon Tracy supposedly knew Troy Tempest. My questiion is; as many underwater ops as the Thunderbirds were involved in, how come they never encountered Stingray?

  • Man, I used to sing "Stingray,Stingray" with my little toy cars when I was a kid.Did the memory of your own voice as a kid ever drive you nuts?Mine drives me nuts every time I remember "STINRAAAY,STINGRAY. Stingraaay, Stingray. stingraaay,stingr......"
