  • OMG her hand is so tiny in his lolol

  • why was mr darcy so rude to her when they meet? o:

wwith the whole "not handsome enough to tempt ME" thing going on

  • hahaha at the guy's turn at 3:30

  • @Ashe15S a mrs bennet, a miss bennet, a miss bennet, and a miss bennet...sir. LOL

  • Mr. Darcy totally looked at Elizabeth, just to look at her!!!!!!!!!!

  • I could get lost in his voice:)

  • flipsyde336 its ment to signify how nervious he was by helping her into the carriage as he is maddly in love with her, however because of her social standing he can do nothing but show small hints of his affection for her

  • @lollypop9687 damn you hit that on the head

  • I dont understand about the camera shot of Darcy's hand after he helped elizabeth in carriage. Could someone help me with that?

  • bingley is such a cutie!

  • ha ha. I hope Im not the only one who noticed that Jane kicked lizzie under the table when she asked Mr.Collins if his complements presead from the impulse of the moment. atleast thats what it looked like!

  • i am totally annoyed with Mr. Bingley's sister. She is irritating, jealous, and a complete snob!

  • Haha I love how Bingley is such a dork xD and I swear Mr.Collins is a hobbit

  • One of my favorite movies ^_^

  • Mr. Collins is annoying

  • where is part 2?

  • @survivorgrl409 it had to be skipped because of copyright problems i guess

  • oh my gosh!!!

i absolutely love the part where

Mr. Darcy helps Elisabeth into the

    carriage its so intimate.

  • mr. collins is such a creep!

  • mr. bingley's laugh at 1:24, hahahaha

  • Mr. Collins is in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 with Keira, is he not?

  • @CherriChica Yeah, and the girl who plays Jane is in An Education with Carey Mulligan (who also plays one of the sisters)

  • they have very cleverly done the costumes. making lizzie's more modest and putting caroline in red. it shows there characters

  • part 2 :(

  • Oh how I would love some conversation for conversation's sake right now, but it's hard when your roommate just plugs into the TV every evening. What a lost art!

  • i love when mr darcy touches lizzies hand then he like streches his fingers out...its electric

  • i'll never understand why part 2 doesnt work for me... :(

does anyone have any idea why that is?

  • @lacrosseplayer49 Yeah, it doesn't work for me either. I'm kind of upset.

  • @lacrosseplayer49 Probably because it is nothing like the book! There are scenes in this film which never occured in the original story; take his proposal to Lizzie for example. The television series was bang on for the period, the characters and the book itself.

  • i think its even more amazing how people spoke in those days... and what about. conversation for conversations sake. and since they do it so much each new question and statement becomes more sophisticated and philosophical, probably because they dont have the TV or computer to be distracted by.

  • its so amazin how respect and manners ws of such great importance back in those days...a mean if tht was tday and mr collins offered to read a 'sermon' each sister would have found sm kind of excuse to nt be present.....i think in a way its wt make period dramas so funny and amazing

  • its so amazin how respect and manners ws of such great importance back in those days...a mean if tht was tday and mr collins offered to read a 'sermon' each sister would have found sm kind of excuse to nt be present.....i think in a way its wt make period dramas so funny and amazing

  • love this film saw it twice at the cinema :). love Matthew as Mr. Darcy :). Mr Collins is just creepy, dont like him -_-.

  • Did Jane kick Elizabeth at 7:52?

  • @blackhorsecherrytre3 yes she did, it personally reminds me of my older sister lmao

  • I love how they are trying to stifle their laughter during dinner with Mr. Collins

  • Mr Collins is so creepy he looked like a rapist while he was eating!

  • 5:27 What ever he's doing, I love it.

  • mr.bingley is so funny, lol

  • wow!!! that was some moment!! the hand holding i mean..

  • AHAHA!!! Mrs. Bennet, Ms. Bennet, Ms.Bennet and uhh Ms. Bennet.

  • funniest moment in the movie. "Indeeed, Indeed... very agreeable alternative." translation -->she's female, she'll do. Mr Collins is too practical, and un-romantically regular, must be the mullet.

  • @dollsdoll44 you are so right!!!

  • 1:40 ... meant to say Ms. Bingley, not Mary.

  • ... now that i think of it, Elizabeth is also 200 years ahead of Before Sunrise/Sunset's Celine (minus the ocassional neurosis).

  • 1:40 Mary is at least 120 years ahead of Film Noir. Elizabeth is great here, too.

  • i love bingley at 1:26 ...haha

    and mary is so goth...lol.

the awkward staring at 6:23...haha gotta love mr. collins.

  • mr. collins is the strangest man in the universe!!!

  • i love mr. bingley's awkward laugh!

  • the actresses and actors are perfect for their part!!

  • go mr darcy! u can do it! xDD

  • AHHH!!! The hand gesture told everything! That was totally LAAAAA! :) Go Mr. Darcy

  • Mr.Bingley's stupid sister reminds me of my stuck up instructor. I think she's trying to make Lizzie feel like a minority by saying all that shit about women having to know so much to be considered a woman.

  • They got one thing right in this version and that is the age of the Ladies. They always appear to be near 30 in other versions

  • that was so dam sweet of Darcy 2 help her out-by the carriage!

  • The dinner scene is hilarious!

  • This Mr. Collins is very "creepy" on this version... LOL

  • why does th mother not want colins to marry the older one?

  • @madadhallaidh1712 She wants her to marry Mr. Bingley.

  • @madadhallaidh1712, because they thought that she would soon be married to Mr Bingley who was very wealthy.

  • pls try to fix part 2, nbc universal blocked it here in the US!!! nonetheless thanks for d upload!!

  • What happens in part 2???

  • ha! mr. bingley's face at 1:25! it's great xD

  • Mr. darcy is soooooo handsome. lol :)

  • I like who they chose 4 mary. She's not butt ugly in this one, she's just plain.

  • Mr. Bingley, when the ladies are walking and Darcy is talking, hes just kinds like Teh Fudges, these people are too complicated for me...

  • Man, ya gotta love Mr. Collins.

    6:24.

    Exemplary vegetable...*wipes tear of laughter*

  • my god this collins dude is such an idiot! he and mary are actually quite alike, i always thought

  • lol bigley is soo ood u just got to love hiis character

  • eww aren't they all cousins who would marriage their own cousin/family ???? nasty

  • they did it in the past. i think the catholics do it even today

  • catholics do what? marry their cousins?

  • it is rare these days, but still yes they do

  • @yigoalie Up until early 20th century, it was common for full cousins to marry whether they were Catholic or not. In your own family tree, you will likely come across it somewhere . It was common among the gentry & Royalty. because it kept their estates "in the family". Queen Victoria married one of her cousins , Keeping the blood royal! Now we know that close breeding produces idiocy, and passes on disease. Victoria spread Haemophelia & Porphuria. throughout the european Royal families,

  • no they dont, im catholic lol

  • @kavtoM no they dont not anymore and i am catholic and they dont do that

  • @pinoy600 very progressive!!!

  • and something in her air and manner of walking - by which she means herself but i still like keira's air and manner of walking more :P

  • uhm...what is she trying to prove by walking her around the room?

  • lol so Awkward at Dinner Table

  • "rather less likable"

    "rather less like a ball"

    ... haha

  • Kiera Knightly as Elizabeth and whats his face mr. collins is Lord Beckett in the 2nd and 3rd Pirates movie

  • Pirates of the Carribean actors together!!!!

  • Who do you mean?

  • my heart fluttered when Mr. Darcy held Elizabeth's hand, and helped her into the carriage.

  • @holisterhottie14 i know she was suprised back in the day more because hand to hand contact (without gloves) was kind of intimate

  • @xoxogirl101xoxo yes that just shows how they can't resist each other. but they have to enough not to go wild in public hahah.

  • @holisterhottie14 what did that mean? like he held her hand then his hand straightened out. im confused!

  • @toristory10 its cuz he is in love with her!! or falling slowly in love couples wern;t touchy back then so any touch ment SO much and he enjoyed it=]

  • @holisterhottie14 MINE TOO! I replayed it over and over again!

  • part 2 is missing! ):

  • @laceyv1993 no it isnt it just is under the name of pnp part 2

  • i know, but it won't show up because of copyright issues or whatever. ):

  • @WeLuphDisney no it isnt

  • charles is so darling :D

  • i think you mean....charles is such a retard : (

  • i agree

  • I love this version....really great movie

  • lmao at 1:26 !!!

  • LOL yes! His expression is gold!

  • i so totally agree......so goofy ...lol

  • yeah, it sort of looks like he's swallowing something sour!

LOL I loveee darcy! Esp. in 1995 and 2005!

  • I can't get enough of this movie :) Persuasion is my favorite book but this is my favorite movie :D

  • is persuasion a good book?

  • yessss :] I love it and then the 2007 movie adaptation is good too. it doesn't go along with the book but I like it in its own distinct way :]

  • this version is so horrid i can barely stand to watch it..... 1995 version is infinitely better.

  • I love how Mr. Bingley laughs at the begining. I find it funny that he finds it funny.

  • I find it hilarious that "Lord Beckett" and "Miss. Swan" are in the same movie just a year before Pirates. He's just as annoying in this one too!

  • AND Keira Knightly plays Elizabeth in this movie TOO. Just..sayin.

  • Ha ha, thats true! I can't believe I didn't notice that.

  • You can cut the sexual tension with a knife in this version. Although it is all accomplished by a glance or the touch of a hand, brilliant!

  • 5:26 why is mr. darcy stretching out his hand?

  • To put it simply? He wants her. Badly.

  • my computer wouldnt let me watch part 2 can some one explain to me what happened in that part

  • That hand to help her into the carriage just gets me every time! How lovely to be at a time when a touch of the hand can mean so much!

  • I know one of my favorite parts. uh i love mr,darcy,,.

  • thank you for uploading this movie, but what's wrong with pnp 2? its banned apparently

  • i saw this before i saw the 1995 version...

i loved it until then,....but now. ESPECIALLY Mr.Darcy.

the 1995 version is sadly much better

  • why is Mary so goth? LOL she's wearing all black...

  • he's sexy!

  • Bella cheated on Edward with a filthy dog. Twilight be damned.

Pride and Prejudice is a timeless class.

  • aha!

"mrs. benneth and ms bennet and ms benneth and...ms benneth"

    so funny!

  • i hate when people compare twilight to pride and prejudice

those two being on the same playing feild is an absolute impossilibity,

pride and prejudice is a classic

  • Well said!

  • who compared silly twilight to pride and prejudice??

  • stephanie meyer[ the woman who wrote twilight] said that she framed twilight off of pride and prejudice

she also said that edward and bella made for a better love story

the womans out of her mind.

  • stephanie meyer is full of herself then. I never knew about twilight until the movie came out...even then i only read the series out of curiosity....BIG mistake..and i regret it dearly. Also, she did NOT write the fourth book i'm sure. The rest is a bunch of over emotional balony.....

  • pretty much the story line is that a girl and a vamp want to have sex...end of story

  • twilight is silly indeed.

  • I like the conversatioin between lizzy and her friend about mr. collins. A total blatant explanation for the ppl. viewing the movie who have never read the book. obviously her friend would know exactly why mr. collins would get the house!

  • The love the hand part....

  • haha oh you Mr. Darcy :) and your hidden funniness :) hahaha :)

  • love the way she walks to try and attract his attention

  • 1:08 - Love the way Lizzie quickly snaps her book shut after Fitzy adds, "And of course she must improve her mind by extensive reading," ha ha. It's as if at this point she wishes to avoid the least chance of him taking a fancy to her, lol.

  • @churchmousie

    Fitzy? lol

  • hmmmm that clergyman outfitt that mr collims is wearing looks soooooo much better on edmund from mansfield park bit the 1991 and 2005 versions they are are pair of hottie totties!!!

  • oh my god yes

  • lmao omg mr collins is soo awkward!!!

    boiled potatoes!!!!! bahahahahaa

  • Curious how Darcy addresses Elizabeth by her name, but her sister Jane as Miss Bennet. I don't think Bingley addresses Jane by her first name.

  • @jgk101361 Only the eldest sister must be addressed by Miss and the last name. So only Jane is Miss Bennett.

  • the eldest daughter is always called "Miss *familyname*" while the younger women are called by their first names

  • i feel so bad for mary.. shes like 18th century goth lmao... i love her..

  • @LetsGetCrazy688 She's my favorite character lol

  • i love this movie. it's my one of my all time favorites, even at the age of 15. i love the book, and i recommend it to anyone who loves this movie.

  • che brutta voce che ha mr.darcy nel film originale!!! meglio il doppiatore italiano!

  • I find the director's apparent obsession with sex (in regard to the characterization of Mr. Collins) an unfortunate detraction from the movie's overall excellence. While I haven't read the novel, I find it difficult to believe that any writer of the late 18th/early 19th century would disparage the clergy in such a crude, disrespectful way. It's part and parcel for practically everything the film industry produces today. I just hate to see it happen in the context of an otherwise.great story.

  • @churchmousie YES!!!! I hate how theu "interpret" these books now! I much prefer reading them to watching them.. Though watching them as well makes it easier to remember quotes for exams. :P

  • I love mr. bennet

  • lol i love mary she's my favorite character

  • hahaha have you read the book? mary is the most pedantic...not exactly a trait to be desired

  • where is pnp 2?

  • Taken away. Copyright restrictions.

  • Okay, what is with that man's coat that Lizzy is wearing? Around one's own home, fine, but in the presence of other people? The anachronisms and social no-no's that this film takes liberally are stacking.

  • haha mr. collins in cutler beckett in pirates of the caribbean! lol

  • lol. what excellent, boiled potatoes.

  • just a little bit but it's funny right?

  • HEY its the pirates of the carribean cast all over again

  • What's that in 6:33? Mrs. Bennet's tapping(?) Jane's hand. I have no idea!

  • hahaha but she didnt respond much... lol. i never noticed that either! its too quick to tell...

  • do you guys know what part in pride and prejudice mr. darcy falls in love with elizabeth

  • he likes her from the first moment.when he cames to the ball his look stops on her, then return fast.i have no idea why he said she´s barely tolerable...

  • ikr. maybe he didn't want admit tat he liked her and had too much pride in himself hence the name pride and prejudice

  • very first part, when he sees her at the first party...

  • Comment removed

  • damn mr. darcy....is cute!!!

  • I don't fully get the exact reason of Elizabeth saying "Thank you, Mary."

  • what she meant was in a way she was saying thats enough mary so thank was like a way of her saying that convo is closed. hehe i loved the way she portrayed elizabeth in this movie. i love it! great love story!

  • mr. darcy isnt hawt enough!!!!!! :( colin firth was soo cute.
