gee I'm glad I decided to dig into your videos on your channel Dan. This is really cool. hhmm another playlist "smile" maybe coming up. The guy at the end is quite cheery.. its cute. More stars!! *****
Hi Dan, gee its good I came back here.. as I only got the 2nd reply from you and it didn't make any sense without the first reply part about the sad story. Thats too bad about him having a massive stroke.
On another note, this video is really upbeat.. and the music goes great with it too! More stars! looks like its a popular video! ******
Yeah I did the pinsetter thing in high school and college...still moon light at a buds center where he is the head mechanic. Of course the vintage starshields we used to have are long gone. It brought back memories of the mid 70's when I started bowling.
Even though I'm retired, if I could go back to just one job and do it again, This would defiantly be the one! It was the most enjoyable minimum wage job on the planet!
nice vid. Your machines are almost the same as ours. The masking units are the same as my Part 2 vid and them stupid ball kickers are there too. I made a fun video called riverport lanes. Check it out if you havent.
Thanx for the reply! yea, those ball kickers would always launch ebonites like the space shuttle! SOMETIMES w/ a pin in front of them! I got really fast at pulling the covers off of the subway!!! Actually, it was one of your vids that inspired me to post this one.
Those pins are always spellbinding.
And, at 2:02, I spied your classic portable VCR.

Sad story about him!
Not long after this was recorded, ha had a massive stroke, brought on by, I believe, the fact that he was a HEAVY smoker.
I last saw him in 1984, and he looked like he was about 80 years old.
Another playlist! Yay! I've been looking through them! A lot of cool stuff in them!

Wow! And how ironic...This video is over 25 years old and was shot on cheap equipment!
slyflight 3 years ago
Excellent coverage of how the pinsetting machines work. I had never seen that before.
PismoBeach 3 years ago
hahaha, long hair, manual scoring, ASHTRAYS...(Remember them things?) And, Is that lyle Bremser I hear on the radio? ahh, the '80's. :)
pourdesraisons 3 years ago 3
...Not to mention that the projection unit kinda looks like WALL-E! I just noticed it.
Yes, that was 'ol Lyle! I think NU was playing KU that day.
slyflight 3 years ago
and the good ol eagle logo red crowns! the best pins made! (i think)
amrepmike33 3 years ago
Those were Brunswick Mixers, preferred pin of that era! Had the American Bowling Congress eagle on 'em.

Love the StarShields! My last place had those! A pain in the but keeping up with the bulbs but well worth it IMO! They lookj great during cosmic too!
BrunsAce 3 years ago
Funny thing 'bout the starshields, I remember we ran out of white bulbs and had to use YELLOW bulbs, and NO ONE noticed it for about 3 months!
slyflight 3 years ago
Lol I can believe it! Good ole #94 bulbs. Can you believe they're $1.00 apiece now?!
BrunsAce 3 years ago
Whoa! $1.00 per now?!!? No wonder the mngr said "just use the yellow ones"... BUT, That was 25 years ago!

Your machines is same as my hometown bowling alley...But It's speed machines, It's not good because sometime the pin machines hit the sweep.
