Christian or not, a great band, as are Iona. I trawled the Christian band area just to try and find some different artists that could not be found in the usual listings and once you get passed all the tacky praise stuff you can find some proper groups, who happen to be christians who produce some good music.
Rick and Mark are such nice guys!!! Rick has such a clean and gorgeous voice! -So gifted! So glad I could find their music on iTunes!!!! -I listen to this song every time I'm down and it lifts me up! thank you for posting this vid! brings back good memories!!! :)
White Heart is my favorite Christian group when I first started listening to Christian music. Still is one of my favorites after 20 years. Great band, great music - never gets old.
Had to listen to this one again to get my fix from it. The vocal effect with long delay just really works well, and the lush keyboard textures help transport me to an alternate reality, the one that juliewolff777 was reminiscing about, I think.
After giving this a fresh listen, I realized how much I like the bass part on this. That coupled with the acoustic guitar really knocks it out of the park. There is just so much to like about this song. I think it's one of their all-time best.
back then i had a cd player....but would still buy tapes.....cause they were cheaper....for 20 bucks i could get 1 15 dollar cd....or 2 10 dollar tapes.....2 is better then one!!!
I miss them, and all the Christian rock from late 80's to early 90's. Petra and White Heart were great, I also miss Dakoda Motor Company. What happened to Christian rock, by the way? All I ever hear on the radio around here is "praise" music that is copied over and over and over. It drives me insane so I can't listen to it.
this song has great sentimental value for me. the first time I ever asked a woman for a dance, this was the song we danced to .... it was at a valentine's dance sponsored by my university's chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ, in 1994.
It has been long while since I have heard a solid Christian band. I sitll dust off my old tapes and CD's from the 80's and early 90's Christian bands.
How can a band with so many number 1 hits be left with no dove awards? This video was even rated the #1 video of 1992 and it didn't even win best video. The whole Christian music world still makes them pay for Scott Douglas.
This came out in '93. I'll be the first to admit, when it comes to Christian music, to this day I'm "stuck in the 90's"! The entire decade had IMO the greatest variety of GREAT Christian hits!
this is one of the songs I remember from when iw as around 11 years old (20 years ago). I always thought this was a gifted band, now that I listen to lyrics as well as incredibly played musical instruments, it has a very powerfull message. I am just so uplifted when I hear this. It reminds me that our heavanly Father is always here, and whatever bondages we have, God can and will deliver and break those chains. God is so amazing to put a message through this music.
Its ashamed the generation of young people now have no serious good music to listen to! I still crank these guys up while driving...giving the rappers a run for their money. Just my opinion, but these guys are still the best!
Whiteheart definitely my ATF Christian band. Grew up listening to them in college at Taylor University in Indiana. I was not a Christian when I got to Taylor and was introduced to Christian music there.
Yes, I miss the good days of Christian music like Whiteheart, Petra, and so many others. The music then inspired me and you could understand the lyrics
in general. It was a great era for Christian music
@bwschmidt1 I am part guitarist, part computer programmer, but 1000% CHRISTIAN, and I have decided today to devote the rest of my life to using my talents to worship GOD. Pray for me, this world needs another revolution of people who are not afraid to stand up and SPEAK HIS NAME!!
@juliewolff777 No, you are not just being nostalgic at all. I miss those days too. Such great music with great messages. Not to belittle today's artists, though. I just grew up in Christ so much with the "old school" playing in the background of my life.
@juliewolff777 How many moderns bands do you know that call themselves Christian, AND actually sing about CHRIST? You've not just being nostalgic, you are feeling the pain of a world which is becoming more and more Godless every day, year, decade. And don't worry if your love of openly Christian bands from the 80's makes you feel old. God is an eternity old, and he's not showing any signs of aging! ;-)
@metalpsalm i think you have a point there. i love these old christian rock songs but they did cause many to live outside of the great commision with a nice warm fuzzy for themselves. we must learn from it. Rock on. :)
@juliewolff777 I think that old music has a lot more meaning than all this new junk they are spewing out of the media, because the older stuff, for one, seemed to have more feeling, and two, I like how they are based upon, and include even, bible scriptures. Simply amazing.
@juliewolff777 Something definitely has changed. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe when all the secular companies started buying out the old standard recording companies, i.e. Myrrh, StarSong, Sparrow, Word etc. - maybe that was it. If Christian music is played for money, rather than for the Gospel, it's not going to be the same.
Having seen them on 3 or 4 tours,White Heart never failed to uplift my spirits! I worked security for Atl.Fest,so i got to meet all kinds of bands! Those were the days...
I used to scream this song at the top of my lungs while cutting the grass during my separation/divorce. Whew. Hope the neighbors didn't hate me. Whiteheart's songs have strengthened me throughout my life.
Florian graduated from Taylor University in Upland, IN about 1 year before I got there myself. I saw Whiteheart perform at Taylor and they were a great live band.
This brings tears to my eyes....I used to play Whiteheart's music in the lates 80s at a Christian radio station...they were awesome! Im so grateful I had the opportunity to see them in concert and know their music..still have some of their albums(not cds)
as far as I'm concerned Whiteheart's music is some of the greatest music ever made..
I grew up exposed to white heart and alot of other christian rock bands from the late 70s and early 80's ... its nice to hear something familiar again, I've never met anyone my age who has heard of them
If you Christian freaks wonder where you can find lots of more Christian music I can help you with that hehe :) Tonight I download Michael W Smith and his concert in Holland in 2007 :) I'm not stupid and I know where I can find what I needed as Christian music and concerts I needed for my collection :) I have earlier tonight listening to Whiteheart's album Freedom :) But I like Tales of Wonder and Highlands too :)
The lead singer in White Heart has an awesome voice Plus a great song
