Bought it for C$69.99 (Canadian) from Sony Store in a mall, went for vacation and regretted not have returned in time. 3 issues with this lens compared to my other cheap conversion wide lens. A) The adaptor that screws into the camcorder is made of plastic, hence durability is not good. B) The image is distorted to the point near fish-eye. C) Image will be blurred when you try to zoom in. I can't believe Sony sells this item.
Thanks for this video. I just started making youtube videos and wanted to learn how this type of lens worked! If anyone wants to see how well these lenses work, I'll be posting a video as soon as I get mine! Don't forget to subscribe! lol
i have the sanyo e2 and it has no threads curently i have a clip on wide angle lens im going to purchase this on ebay and glue gun the 25mm adapter ring on my cam and use the lens with it. do you think it will work fine?
@xRampageProductionsx no thats saying the camera's lens zoom capability its self is the same as a 44-880mm lens on a 35mm camera or a 48-960mm on a 35mm camera.
look for the number before a circle with a line through it that will be your filter size. if you dont have that then you probably dont have filter threads
Sony tries to sell The VCL-HGA07 0.7x lens as an accessory for HD cameras for 200€, does this 10/50$ lens do the same job, even for HD cameras?
I'm trying to find a good wideangle lens for my CX520, there seems to be a lot of different options; generic lenses, cheap sony, expensive sony and now according to your video very cheap sony as well.
how is an opteka .3 not close to a baby death? they are the exact same wideness the only diffrence is century makes better glass to the quality will look better on 3ccd cams. the opteka will give you the exact same picture as long as your not using a super hd cam but there are no 37mm cams like that.
nope. point and shoots are generally for people that want to be able to point and shoot. little if any manual setting and the lenses are not detachable. if you want a real fisheye look you need a DSLR so you can buy a real fisheye
that cam has a 30.5mm filter size. this comes with a 30mm adapter. it might fit but i cant guarantee it. it will fit well enough to hot glue or duct tape though
no that camera does not have filter threads. then number you gave me is the focal length of the lens. the filter size is marked by a circle with a line through it followed by a size in mm. if your camera does not have this your camera cant use this or any lens. most consumer cameras (kind you get from best buy, wal-mart, circuit city ect.) dont have filter threads.
different camera have the lens different distances from the cameras lens. if you want vig you need to move the lens farther away from the camera's lens. to do this buy a uv filter that fits on to your camera.
no because the canon fs100 does not have threads on the front of the lens for added lenses/ filters. with that camera you will not be able to attach any fisheye or lens filter
i went there, my wal-mart doesnt sell lens. i was pissed spo i got one off ebay for 22.95 buy it now with free shipping. btw thanks somerockenguy, this really gave me the excitement to get better shots for my vids.
i dont know how i can help you. it says it will only fit cameras with a 37mm 30mm or 25mm threading. if your camera does not have any of these it will not fit. you best bet, because no ones going to accept a return because you bought the wrong one, is to duck tape it or hole it to the front of your camera and hope it fits.
could you pleaseee tell me if your fish eye is compatible . i dont know either to buy the fisheye you have , or to buy a raynox qc-303 cause i dont know if my cam would support these two fisheyes if you could please help me i woul apreciate a lot ;D
i dont think there is threads on that camera i think my friend has that one i dont think i remember threads on it and i can find if it says whether or not it does. the raynox qc-303 is made like crap i would go with this one and see if you can duck tape it on to the front or hold it on.
the canon fs100 doesnt have threads(i have same camera) but if you pm me ill tell you how to mod it so that you can use a fisheye with it. i moded mine and have this fisheye.
yea I saw those and the other day I was talking to my brother, mentioning that you had found one that cheap, but thanks for at least looking and thanks to your review I definitely plan on buying one!
but u said that u found it for $10 and i have been searching all night for one so if u can help me out or ever come across one that cheap PLEASE PLEASE let me know.

35mm Equivalent : 44-880mm (4:3 Camera Mode), 48 - 960mm (16:9 Camera Mode)
Does this mean that my camera has a 35mm thread size? because that info is what is making it difficult to find the right lens

why do you have to set the camera to 4:3 not 16:9
BlahBluBlu69 2 years ago
@BlahBluBlu69 because this lens is made for 4:3 and not 16:9. in 16:9 you get some blurriness on the edges
somerockenguy 2 years ago
is it like that for all cams and lenses?
BlahBluBlu69 2 years ago
@BlahBluBlu69 its for most of them. there are some lenses made for 16:9
