Housebreaking... It's not an issue of them being slow learners or stubborn as with many other breeds. It's more of an issue of them ranking comfort as #1. They generally don't like to go outside when it's cold or rainy. Many owners find them to be easy to litter box train (yes, like a cat).
Prolly the bravest Italian I've seen. They're normally quite timid. Mine was too afraid to walk down the stairs! Haha, you have a wild one on your hands!! Very adorable!
I think it's harder if you buy an IG puppy from a mall pet store; they get used to eating, sleeping & going to the bathroom in the same spot so it's a bit more work to break that habit. In hindsight I know buying my guy from a pet store was wrong, that the dogs are often unhealthy & it supports puppy mills, but I wouldn't give him up for anything and he was worth the work (mine's 6.5yrs old now). IGs in rescue tend to be well trained by their foster parents so it's a win-win if you want an IG.
@acerone1 It's not from any kind of lack of intelligence or anything, they just have such wee little bladders and many of them are extremely sensitive. Our 5 year old rescue is a trooper and learned to imitate our other dogs but she'll still get sneaky on a rainy, cold day and wizz on the fluffy bathroom carpet. In the beginning crate training was a godsend for keeping her from peeing in the wrong places.
Oh my god, this is absolutely adorable.

We never had a problem to train our dogs. They were all potty trained after about 3 weeeks of training and the whippets even earlier after 1-2 weeks.
