Freddie and Axl have completely different vocal styles. Having said that Freddie Mercury was incredibly versatile. Axl Rose is a one trick pony. Personally I think Axl has a terrible voice. Horribley grainy, weak and whiney. There are many singers out there that vocally destroy Axl Rose. Paul Rodgers being one and in terms of range and power I would say Maynard James Keenan.
