  • Roger tore the band up. if it wasnt for gilmour doing it out of the love for the music they wouldnt have lasted as long as they did. Waters even admits to being an egomaniac.... But yea floyd is floyd. t

  • I could've done Waters but not Gilmore!

  • The Solo!<3333333

  • Closer...

  • @alexstrat It is my favorite Pink Floyd album!

  • @alexstrat I couldn't agree more. Roger will always be my favourite.

  • I hate EMI. The suckers should evaporate. Bastards!

  • One of my favourite song all the time. The Final Cut is a one fucking masterpiece.

  • me gusta también porque me recuerda la situación pesada de mi vida

  • @tjrtherocksponge id say 67n to 79

  • The solo @ 2:37 is vintage Gilmour.

  • i realy hate when EMI block some song in my country and don't let me listen to what i want

  • I've had this song stuck in my mind for 2 years not remembring its name, now I found it <3

  • I think this is absolutely genius work. There is a existential despair in Waters voice.

  • i dont like the final cut beacause it was their last album but the music iis fine

  • @xxxxxx941

you dont like it cooz you dont understand this

  • @xxxxxx941 mmm if you think that then..........your wrong thay only did one album then

  • @alexstrat i like it also because it remember me heavy situation of my life

  • Gilmour's guitar solos on this album are so underrated appreciated

  • does anyone here the girl talking at 1:22 ? Its crazy... I cant understand what it says. Its really quiet so you may need to turn up your volume

  • @TheRainFeltSnow yeah sounds like a fast whispering

  • @TheRainFeltSnow I think it says "I need to wake"

  • @alexstrat I think the same. In fact this is the last work with Pink Floyd, but it seems that this is a Roger Waters album not a Pink Floyd one.

  • @DARKINXS Exactly! ;-) And I can tell you, The Wall tour is EPIC! If you have time and money, go see it! ;-)

  • @alexstrat I saw him in Philly last November. I am a huge fan and first time I saw The Wall in concert. It was the most incredible concert I have ever gone to.

  • By the cold and religious we were taken in hand,

Shown how to feel good and told to feel bad.

    Tongue-tied and terrified we learned how to pray;

Now our feelings run deep and cold as the clay,

And strung out behind us the banners and flags

Of our possible pasts lie in tatters and rags.

    /life_story

  • No Floyd after Waters...

  • @dirtysickeuropeans that's bullshit

  • What a great record, love the dynamics. Wish Dave had a little more input though, it's a very dry album, effects wise.

  • "by the cold and religious we were taken in hand, shown how to feel good but told to feel bad" typical, sounds about right >.>

  • Is it like story telling with raw emotion and brilliant music. Pitty real music like this will NEVER be written again.

  • atom heart mother and final cut are awesome. just listen to these albums few times, you will love them.

  • my 2nd fav next to animals just blows you away

  • This was realeased when I was 16 and I didn't care for it. Through the years I've revisited this album and came to realize it's fucking genius. Now at the age of 44 I love it.

  • @alexstrat YES !!!!! this album is awesome !

  • one of the Great ...*non-populaire song ** i like it VERY !!!! Great solo and voice !!!

  • For the gold in their bags, or the knives in thier backs.

I am so bitter I couldn't make it to see Roger perform the wall last year. I saw him at George WA a few years back, it was FUCKING EPIC!!!111

  • I fucking hate this song because it puts me in a bad mood :C

Fuck. i still love this song...

  • you could tell he was trying to get the sound of the wall

  • Do you remember me, how we used to be,

Do you think we shoud be closer?

  • Such an emotional solo from Dave. Everything Pink Floyd did was a work of art. I am only 23 and its a shame how my generation cant appriciate their music besides The Wall and 90% dont even understand its message.

  • on m0:00 re time

  • Μα πόσο ανατριχιαστικό μπορεί να γίνεται κάθε δευτερόλεπτο που περνά;...

  • That beautiful Hi watt sound! Don't forget gilmours beautiful cameos on this album. It's nice to hear the old floyd sound when gilmour joins in and contributes. You can hear it very distinctively when it happens.

  • Worst Floyd Albums: A Momentary Lapse of Reason, Ummagumma, and Atom Heart Mother. Best Floyd Albums: Dark Side, The Wall, The Final Cut, Animals, Wish You Were Here, and Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

  • perfect guitar solo *-*

  • Wah? Fuck Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd write literature/poetry!

  • @6robyc faggot. Led Zeppelin is the best, Pink Floyd are too

  • @dkkoover Queer, learn to respect other people's opinions.

    Intolerant dipshit.

  • @6robyc what opinion, you have no opinion, you insulted Led Zeppelin. Now fuck off.

  • I was just a child then...now im only a man...

  • One of my favorite Waters vocal tracks.

  • I saw this concert with Eric Clapton , ruined my fragile eggshell mind, THANK GOD!

  • I was just a child then, now Im just a man.... that lyriks hurts me baad... and open my eyes. Thanks to Pink floyd, you made me.

  • such an amazing solo , on of the best !!!!

  • "...cattle trucks lying in wait for the next time." Love that line. So true also.

  • I would have killed to hear Gilmour sing some of these songs. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it as is, but wonder if the gentle air voice of Dave could have brought more light to this beauty.

  • @MrJro2 Good point but what makes this album for me is the pain and emptiness in Waters' voice.

  • @babel1967 Again, I do love it the way it is, but I seriously think Gilmour could have played a bigger part vocally for this and it would have been spectacular. It also probably would have cooled down the fued a little. Also why pass up on sharing vocals with one of the most soothing voices ever? Would of could of but didn't. oh well.

  • @babel1967 I agree. This album is made only for Roger's voice. Gilmour would have ruined it.

  • @Nitrate900 The Gunners Dream would have been killer with Rick Wright on vocals...if he'd still been in the band.

  • Comment removed

  • @nomoreliblabcon Um, NO not for Final Cut and he did very little work on Momentary.

Also, hate to break it to you but Rick passed away a few years ago.

  • Comment removed

  • @nomoreliblabcon in spirit he is brother, he has gone to play the GREAT GIG IN THE SKY!!

  • @nomoreliblabcon Roger waters is the reason why rick went away , he kicked him of the group , roger and his BIG EGO . but when he leave group in 85 rick came back to key board , the group was . and dont tell me that without roger pink floyd is nothin , the real genius is David Gilmour

  • @Letsbehippi Well we all have our own opinions, but i'm not going to get into a hissy fit over it, that would be just silly. But I happen to prefer Roger's lyrics. Dave Gilmour is undoubtedly, an amazing guitarist,, but I feel that the band has tamed somewhat since Roger left. And I am sure that they are all capable of letting their ego's get the better of them, it happens in most bands. It was apparent in The Beatles, so much so that John Lennon took to writing about it during his solo career.

  • @nomoreliblabcon albums that waters rights alone are the worst , but the division bell is one of their best and thats gilmours album , and Gilmour got a better solo career than waters

  • @Letsbehippi Well hey, thats a matter of opinion, and you are entitled to yours. But the fact remains, that Pink Floyd were more successful when Waters was part of the band, end of.

I personally think the division bell is boring, but thats my opinion.

  • @nomoreliblabcon i know but some people think pink floyd was better with syd , thats not my opinion , but for waters it normal that it was better when he were part of the band , the original band is always better

  • @Letsbehippi I just think Roger's lyrics were more cutting edge, controversial maybe. He had a knack of having a stab at the establishment. Whereas Dave's lyrics seem to be more politically correct, as if he doesn't want to upset anyone. Dave is great at writing music, and has produced some great tunes which are very listenable, sometimes poignant. But I love the fact that Roger wasn't afraid to call a spade a spade. They both have equal talent I guess. The Final Cut was just that, for me.

  • @nomoreliblabcon thats why Barrett was roger best friend so all of his song talkin about him thats a great inspiration when your best friend became crazy and became fat when he was such a man with full of energy

  • @Letsbehippi All of Roger's lyrics do not speak about Syd at all. So much for you being a REAL Floyd Fan. In fact, most of Roger's lyrics are about the injustices and imperialistic policies of western governments, and media culture. you know fuck all mate. You like Dave's guitar solo's, but Floyd lyrics are lost on you.

Fucking Floyd fan indeed, don't make me laugh.

  • @nomoreliblabcon if you know a fuckin thing about waters lyrics you would know that , grain damage , wish you were here , and most of their best songs are about syd , read man , read . do you even know what means the lyrics , loser , dont just talk about the wall what talk about everything in the world nigga , im 15 years old and i know more then you , i hope you are proud of yourself man (:

  • @Letsbehippi I have no doubt that Syd played a part in influencing the bands Lyrics, did I ever suggest anything different. In fact, I never mentioned Syd, YOU DID. All I said was, that I preferred the Lyrics written by Roger, as opposed to those Written by Dave.

Why are you trying to make an issue out of something that wasn't an issue? You seriously need to lay off the POT, and get a job, you fucking HOBO TROLL.

  • @nomoreliblabcon i said that some people think that syd was better than gilmour , read my friend read

  • @nomoreliblabconif you would know a single thing about Pink floyd you would know that roger water didnt let other member of the group said their idea , only gilmour obligated him to take his briliant idea

  • @Letsbehippi 15 years old? You may believe that when you're stoned out of your head. So why state your age as 43 on your channel page? Are you a compulsive liar, aswell as a dipshit pothead? No wonder you only have '1 friend' on here. I guess most folk can't be bothered listening to your bullshit, which I can understand, I bet you believe that you are the re-incarnation of Syd Barrett, in your warped little world. Except at 43, that makes you too old, SUCKER, or should that be COCKSUCKER?

  • @nomoreliblabcon sorry to create a youtube acount to test and put the wrong age , i did it the most quickly i can so sorry man , before i forget , where did i wrote that i was re incarnation of Syd , seems like you said that roger waters is your best friend

  • @nomoreliblabcon you dont know exageration man ? its not because i said all that i mean that EVERY SINGLE SONGS talk about syd , his inspiration was taking from him , no syd no floyd , and waters know that , and thats why syd barrett was a rich man , cause he got his part of the money they make , did you know that , the answers seems to be no apparently cocksucka

  • @Letsbehippi OK, so you have an opinion. I don't agree with you. Now get over it, you decrepid fucking creten.

Go roll yourself a big fuck off spliff, and then go philosiphise some more. Jesus, you are such a fucking tool, who cannot handle it when folk have a different opinion to YOU.

I hear what you say, but I just happen to think you're full of shit, and possibly dead from the neck up!

Just do one, you fucking faggot.

  • @Letsbehippi Momentary Lapse, and the Division Bell were ok, listenable. But they lacked that Pink Floyd edge IMO.

I think the period from 1971 - 1983 was their golden era, with Meddle, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, and The Final Cut. I also liked some of the earlier stuff, such as Atom Heart Mother, A Saucerful of Secrets, and some from Umma Gumma. But again, its down to personal taste, and what strikes a chord with the individual eh.

  • @nomoreliblabcon my opinion is same has yours , i like all the song of pink floyd a true fan will like every single things they do you seems to be like me so why all that shit ?

  • @Letsbehippi What "shit" exactly? I could ask you the same question, but I understand that people like different aspects of Floyd music. If you understood British politics you would understand a lot of what Roger was saying in his lyrics, but because you are Canadian, a lot of it is probably lost on you.

You seem determined to start an argument. What is wrong with you, can't you accept that people have their own opinions? Did I ever suggest that you, or anyone else's opinion was somehow wrong?

  • @Letsbehippi and just because you are a "Floyd fan" it doesn't mean you have to automatically like everything they do. Being a true fan allows you to be objective about the music, and recognise weaknesses (for want of a better word) in their music. You can compare their music, and make a judgment on what you prefer, and what you don't.

My Brother-in-law was from the same era as Roger, Dave, etc, and played acoustic guitar in a band. A great Floyd fan, but there was stuff even he didn't like.

  • @nomoreliblabcon sorry to like everything about my favorite group , Pink floyd is unic you cant compare it to something and thats what i love from them , yes i like every they do because you cant say , its looks like blablalba

  • @Letsbehippi So what's your problem? Do you just come on you tube to troll? or have you got some constructive input??

  • @Letsbehippi I don't know if you've heard 'Amused To Death' By Roger, well worth a listen if you haven't.

That album is one of his best. Thought provoking, edgy, at times poignant, but all the while, pure poetry. Very under rated I think.

  • @babel1967 i agree, though Dave's voice is as unique as Rogers, i think the lyrics truly suit Waters moreso than Dave, imagine dave singing and not playing that awesome guitar... good you both raise though.. God bless em..

  • @babel1967 The guitar solos are what stands out to me.

  • BABE 1967 YOU HAVE GOT IT SO RIGHT. THE SAD THING IS IT WONT EVER STOP.

  • I'm surprised Roger thought this song wasn't good enough for The Wall.

  • can someone please tell me on which song of a post-the wall pink floyd or roger waters album we are told what happened with pink??

  • Love them!!

  • love the song and the album....

  • Just Amazing

  • too many recycled ideas in this album. you can hear too many peices of the wall and dark side of the moon in this. gorgious album but not pink floyd worthy. almost like a greatest hits of the past kinda deal. i consider this the best roger waters solo of all time though. good job roger. way better then all his other solos.

  • @nannynicky4life

recycled ideas? One writes about what effects them emotionally/physically. Terrible example: Eminem singing about drugs and being white and death, yet critics like yourself say his new album is a fresh dark new spin on his music. Forgive me if you English and endured WWII, however, if I had any personal attachment to that travesty I would consider my "recycled ideas" something worth expressing.

  • @tyler84durden isn't art just recycled ideas? We hear love songs about the same thing only a different person. We never hear songs about the future it's always about something we did good or bad. I am not looking for an argument on this but a good debate is always fun. Oh yeah gotta love pink floyd

  • @drinkinganex wow, you really have no clue what music's about. of course bad artists make that same stupid things over and over, but still, the different points of view and what you learn from every one of them is what matters

  • @tyler84durden Spot on mate. Yet another foreigner who just 'doesn't get' Rogers lyrics. But as we all know, even the 'best' critics are not always right.

  • But if I had to choose between the two I would have to say it's a tie. Pink Floyd's concept albums will take you on a journey. Animals is awesome and underrated indeed. It all depends on my mood at the time. Zoso is awesome and Led Zepplin will put you in a more upbeat and carefree feeling. Pink Floyd has a more deep thought and molodic kind of feel to the band. Both are unbelieveable and unique in there own right.

  • I'd like to say some things about the responses I read about the Pink Floyd-Led Zepplin comparisons or the thoughts about who's the better band of the two. I think that Pink Floyd peak is something that has to be put into account here. It starts with Dark Side of the Moon and ends with The Wall. That was a long time and the band members did'nt always see eye to eye. Very remarkable if you ask me. Led Zepplin 1 through 4 is also a great run of unbelieveable musical achievement.

  • i love to listen to this but it just makes me sad

  • haunting...friggin haunting

  • it was a paradoxical posting

  • words cant describe this song. so i wont try. floyd captured everyones tortured soul and released them.

  • @graemenoone i thought you weren't going to describe it

  • @13RevengeIsSweet i thought you weren't going to describe it.

  • think before you act. thanx.

  • dont you think we should be closerrr

  • closer

  • haha vid length=4:20

  • this album makes me cry!

  • yeah gilmours solo in this song is godly lol its like hes crying with his guitar

  • i love solo (L) !

  • '...or the knives in their backs...'

  • Poetry in a song :)

  • i love roger waters voice!!!!!!!!!

  • The wall è l'opera rock di tutti i tempi... Pink the best

  • @hewie8881 The lamb è esattamente a suo pari, forse per certi versi superiore.

Comunque i Pink Floyd sono stati i più geniali, a mio avviso, perchè hanno saputo spaziare su tutti i generi.

  • @xXHardstyleRulezXx chi è the Lamb? io conosco Lamb ma no the Lamb non so se è la stessa cosa.

  • @hewie8881: the lamb lies down on broadway, doppio del 1974 dei Genesis, ultimo lavoro con Peter Gabriel in formazione e punto massimo della band

  • pink floyd is the greatest band ever oops maby ledzep and pink floyd are the greatest bands ever

  • This is the only album by PF that made me really miserable - consequently I haven't actually listened to it in about 20 years.

  • @rorshak73 i have ben listening to it for more than 20 years!!!!!!

  • @ZIDAN8888 Maybe I'll give it another go!

  • For those who havent a clue.. and those Who know!!!

  • soundtrack of my teenage ! love it !

  • My possible pasts - don't you remember me?

    Subject: steamrollered rate frit

Anagram: film a Lords tree retreat

  • can you upload the lyrics?

    thanks, great album,

    AWESOME¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • This is a awesome album even if it basically Roger Waters showboating.

  • Pink is mumbling this song (an early vesion of it) in The Wall when he's sitting on the floor in one of the stalls of the restroom

  • I'm not saying this is the best guitar work Gilmore ever did, but man, what a tone........feedback of the soul.

  • In The Realm Between King Crimson And Deep Purple Lays The Well-Trodded Brick Path Of Pink Floyd's Domain Over Time And Space... UnKnowingst To The Drug Addled Murkery Of A Black Sabbath, The Brain Damaged Brigade Of Dog Ranchers Seek Only The Fervoured Belief Of Man's Extinction To Fuel The Sewer's Cookery With Their Hatchets And Clubs. I SomeTimes Wonder....Where Do I Go From Here?

  • Can I get some?

  • @LordPrick fucking nice post...a simple thanks...

  • This is THE most underrated Pink Floyd album ever.

  • @stjames888 yes your right ... but i really do think its one of Floyd best album its has it all gilmours fantastic Guitar, waters heart wrenching lyrics.. this album hits the soul with a punch

  • "By the cold and religious we were taken in hand/ shown how to feel good and told to feel bad." Sounds right to me.

  • @babel1967 sounds right to me to man...

  • @babel1967 My favourite line,.

  • muito show!!!!!Pink forever!!!

  • WHAT IS THE SYMBOLISM BEHIND THE COVER ART?

  • @PYSCOPOMP a poppy in the left top corner and military insignia/badges in the bottom left.

  • @PYSCOPOMP

The Purple and White Stripes Ribbon represents the Distinguished Flying Cross...The Yellow ribbon below it is the Africa Star.

  • @PYSCOPOMP Military symbolism - the stripes below are ribbons from world war medals, the poppy top left is a symbol of fallen soldiers and remembrance from the world wars.

  • 1. The Division Bell (castrate me later)

    2. The Wall

    3. The Darkside of the Moon

    4. The Final Cut

    5. Atom Heart Mother

  • @Polterguist666 I really like TDB, it was the first album I had. I grew up with that :)

One of the things I love about pink floyd is how varied their music is!

  • @dadeskr same here , High Hopes is my favourite song ever,it's so haunting, and Gilmour's guitar solo is just incredible, obviously i went backwards in time after that , and my second fav album is Wish You were Here, i can't get in to The Wall though for some reason

  • @ANDREWHALL28 I listened to high hopes the other day, it brought a tear to my eye. Its so sad and powerful. To me it is about how when you are young you have all these hopes and dreams and of course (you think) the time to fulfill them, the future is full of opportunity and wonder. But often things don't work out that way, things happen in our lives and we never fulfil those dreams, but despite this we keep on hoping... ah I feel sad writing this.

  • @dadeskr its also about the point in your life when you realise that all you really have left are memories of good times past....

  • @dadeskr and maybe the inability of humankind to just enjoy the moment that we are in, we must always be yearning after something, we live our lives in the future (in our hopes) or the past (in our memories) and miss the little wonders of present life... sorry about the analysis, I keep thinking of more. I'll stop now.

  • @dadeskr No problem, your thoughts echo mine and are valid. I love this song.

  • @dadeskr I saw a Pink Floyd tribute band play it last night in Southampton ,they nailed it too ,

  • I like the wall, its an acquired taste though definately...

  • @dadeskr I never gave it a chance tbh, so I have literally just gone out and bought it , and ordered The Final Cut aswell

  • @ANDREWHALL28 well I hope you enjoy it :)

  • great album,

  • 1.The Final Cut

    2.Animals

    3.Wish You Were Here

4.The Dark Side of The Moon

    5.The Wall

  • @phuktard I agree...This is my thoughts exactally

  • Roger Waters appeared to get more angry and bitter the longer he stayed in Floyd.

The Final Cut, along with The Wall are incredibly vitriolic. Brilliant though.

  • 1.wish you where here

    2.the wall

    3.the final cut

4.the dark side of the moon

    5.anymore shenanigans that they released

  • I'm quite 100% convinced that people write this album off as the worst pink floyd album because it wasn't a hit AKA the music industry didn't suck this album dry with exposure
