what is the difference between this and an apple Ipod? which is better? is it easy yo use? coz im blonde. does it come with built in speakers and how is the volume on that?? Also if it doesn't work with itunes how on earth am i able to downloade videos :(

i just recently bought the onda vx747 and i find it a poor impression of the ipod touch. i would rather stick with the ipod touch considering these reasons. The maximum volume is not very loud, it freezes occasionally with video files,the touch screen is extremely slow responsively and sometimes doesn't respond, the lock switch needs to be redone more nicely as it doesn't respond sometimes and freezes up if u try to watch a long movie on it such as greater than 25 mins
I think you mean the newest firmware v1.10 cause at Onda webpage it doesnt have any firmware v1.2 for the vx474 only for vx989 and 979 version players!
ID3 is not that important, 330 songs is enough, Ogg, Flac, and AAC can be supported. Thats just a firmware bugg. The touchscreen is very responsive to be that cheap.
I beg to differ. ID3 is rather important when displaying song titles. Most songs being in Mp3's nowadays are usually pirated. And how are pirated songs named? "01xnamez_-_xtitlex_-rippedbyxripper.mp3". Which makes it nicer and slicker havng an ID3 tag which only displays the name and title. The formats are opensource, which means that it's able to port them onto a device. However, do you think Chinese engineers are willing to do that, for the shitty wage they're getting?
So in your experience, do you like your VX747? I'm thinking of getting one, but that guy talking about low headphone volume and high background hissing noise turns me off as I will be using in-ear headphones most of the time.
I own an Onda VX747 here are my impressions: Good: - Good Sound Quality - Good Video Quality - Very Good Construction/Materials - Decent Interface - Nice Packaging Bad: - No Ogg, Flac and AAC Support - NONE! - Low Headphone Output - 330 Track Song Limit (This Is Just STUPID!) - No ID3 Support, No Sorting Options - High Background Noise During Silent Passages - Unresponsive Touch Screen - Unresponsive Volume Controls
I was so looking forward to this player before, but then I realised that it doesn't have a dedicated onboard sound chip. :( And now that I see the interface, it's just to plain and boring...
wow, the games on this are such an improvement compared to the 858. And it now has 4 custom backrounds! Awesome. I was a little confused why some content was in English and some in Chinese? Does it still not support English fully?

Not inferior, cheaper because it hasn't got the brand name of an iPod. I would say it's better, no need to use friggin' iTunes, drag and drop ftw!
