The RCHP in my opinion should be at least on a top 10 of the greatest bands of ALL time. I love Zeppelin, Queen and all that good stuff but COME ON. OK they're good but come on. They are not at the same artistic level as Dream Theater. I'm not saying they're trying to be better than dt (because the RHCP revolutionized rock) but Dream Theater is high quality art. The average listener preffers RHCP over DT but anyone mature enough to understand DT knows that their Prog music is basically the classical music of today. dt is very very technic while rhcp musick is fucking powerfull, played with style, love and heart(dt guitar player plays 9999 notes in 1 second and john frusciante plays solos with just 3 or 4 notes and these 4 notes pwn like shit) but its just a question of taste because i personally really hate rock music with keyboards and dt plays in theaters where noone can go crazy and they dont even jump around and go crazy themselves and im a guitar player and i dont like that over-technical playing

There are some DT songs that can make you go crazy if you know how to listen to that music. Its a very powerful experience but once again I have nothing but respect for the Chili Peppers and your opinion (because sometimes less is more).
Technique means nothing without expression. I could not agree more. Technique can only be a tool to allow you to express yourself and nothing more. Music is about expression. Music that is built on expression is therefore called art and ART is very rarely something thats "pop" or something that is commercial or can be sold for profit. I could not care less what those idiots say, they cater not to the music but to a crowd....its all about money to these people. I don't think John Frusciante or Flea for that matter are vituoso players nor could they be "indisputably" called the best players ever....but they are cool guys and cool musicians with a lot of musical soul and a lot of power to inspire people to play music.

The funny thing is Jack Sherman actually made the riff up. Hillel is better at playing Sherman's riff. You are right, this was how AK intended the song to be when he wrote the lyrics.

clearly looks like hillel in the video, so quit talking about chad, he wasnt in there. Hillel plays the guitar on this song better than the guitarist on the first album, what was that guitarists name, forgotten his name?. Never a big fan of Hillel's style, but he was still a great guitarist and big part of Chili history. Jack was really solid, just like Chad.

i dont think Chad smith was the drummer in this video.. i think it's Irons since Hillel was still alive.. They changed the drummer to Chad Smith because Irons quit the band when Hillel overdosed.. sad and good times =( =)

rock palast was either the name of the concert or the name of the venue that the chilis performed at in 1986 in Germany I believe it was. I'm pretty sure. lol but it was just a concert and one of the awesomeful songs they performed was buckle down. I need to look it up again on here, someone might have put it back up. :D
