I'm in Tempe. Can they live INSIDE your roof? I don't see any evidence of them ON my roof, but I can hear them INSIDE the roof. Its a flat roof and no attic, I just have no idea how they are getting INSIDE there
snap traps for roof rats? bullshit. those things are so worthless and roof rats aren't buying it. I am trying everything but a snake and these little buggers are just laughing. zapper, snap trap, bait stations, liquid death, vanilla extract, nutmella, peanut butter, dog food, and ZIP. damnit.
@00RSZEX Don't know if you still have the problem but try a liquid based bait with a citrus flavor. That seems to work well since roof rats like citrus.
@Bluestarwarrior1 They like warm places. They live along the pacific coast and in the southeast states to Texas. In the north, they go along the coast of Washington, but no other northern states have them. They came to the Phoenix in 2001, most likely in a delivery truck.

@00RSZEX Whats wrong with using snap traps for roof rats? Not mouse traps, RAT traps. They are like 4x bigger than those little mousetraps.

Do roof rats live up in the northern states?

You can train them to go through pipes and thread wires through the pipes. :)
