  • I've never seen a monster dude talk about form, only internet fags and personal trainers making dollars, not results. Wise up.

  • damn nice man i never sow nothing like this before good job

  • rofl, on every single youtube video ive watced someone always thinks they can do better... NO ONE CARES a simple youtube comment doesnt mean anything, no one believes it or at least they shouldnt.Comments are about the person/thing in the video, not you.

  • he actually did 22 and a half reps lol...

  • Nice seeing someone do this test who does full reps

  • i can easily hit 40 reps with 225 but i don't do that anymore for now since i'm trying to build more power and strength.

also being able to do a lot of reps with a certain weight doesn't mean you'll have a higher 1 rep maximum cause they use difference muscle fibers. doing heavier weight less reps and more sets will increase your 1 rep max while what he did will only increase endurance.

it takes different trainning for different goals in my oppion.

  • That's insane! Your 1-RM must be 500 plus!

  • Honestly, My max is 200 right now, and im 15 (freshman) what do you think I can get by senior year (225 test)

  • how much he weights

  • im 11 and ive seen teenagers in my school who benchpreesed 90 - 100 lbs and it was hard for them

  • lol I do 135lbs 15 times 5 sets

  • lol reading comments on this makes me laugh!!! this is hard... very hard i can get about 10-12 and my form is sloppy im also a year older then this guy so im saying props...! dont dis this guy unless you make a video and beat him.... at his age to btw:)

  • Same age and yes I can do more reps than that.

  • does anyone know if those reps would count in a nfl combine test because it looks like hes arching his back a little..but im not sure.

  • yeah they would still count them, they aren't very strict as far as form goes

  • actually they are very strict, if your form is off on just one rep, they may not count your entire test

  • hes also bouncing the shit out of that bar. his chest is a primitive trampoline. hes really strong though, just those reps shouldnt be counted.

  • that guy screamin is so damn annoying

  • AGREED. what a retard.

i would get off that bench and tell that guy to shut the fuck up. look how he gets up, he was waiting to do that..tool.

  • at least this kid isn't doing half reps like everyone else that posts on here

  • Lock it out!!! Lock it out!!! Lock it out!!!

    LOL

What an ass, that's the type of guy that gets into bar fights.

    FSR

  • lol numbnuts locking out is retarded, gives your muscles a break, true reps arent locked out

  • No, you are retarded and don't know what the hell you are talking about.

  • actually thats not completely true

it gives certain muscles a semi-rest, while it uses other muscles, so its not really "resting", and when you get tested for something like this its necessary for optimum performance

  • haha i can do 225 5 times but im only 13 lol

  • Sure you can. Will believe it when I see it.

  • good luck growing.... bench pressing b4 14 1/2 - 15 can stuny ur growth

  • liarrrr

  • f**k u liar

  • Awesome! i can do like 125lbs 6 times...

  • Screw lockout. Lockout only matters when you're doing heavy singles in a bench press competition. I think the 225 rep test should be done under any format somebody chooses to do it in. If this guy just so happened to want to lock it out, then good for him.

  • holy shit....

  • Lock it out lock it out somebody knock him out

  • that was fucking amazing

    ur an animal

  • Thats how many times I do 105lbs.

  • great strengh and power right here!

  • LOCK IT OUT LOCK IT OUT LOCK IT OUT

  • NICE BOUNCE

  • there was no bounce

  • None at all haha

  • That was awesome, only guy on here that did FULL reps....strong

  • DAMN STRONG!

  • the "LOCK IT OUT!!!" guy at the end was annoying

  • i agree i mean you dont lock out your arms in benchpress anyway

  • I can do 12 full reps, this dude is wopping ass.

    Great vid, thanx!

  • Someday lol. I fluctuate weight from 143-145 but I can rep 225 three times without a spot. I have done 245 one time. I'm no superman but I'm pretty strong for my weight. I'm still training hard though.

  • Why is everyone trying to explain the number of ways they think his form is bad? Its a test of explosiveness and endurance, nothing more!!!

  • nicely done!

  • I'm 13, 175 lbs and bench 225 for 52 reps, is that good?

  • No you can't. You might bench 25 52 times, not 225.

  • Go look at that "13 year old's" videos. He's pretty damn strong.

  • Yea for real.... besides if you were benching 225 for 52 reps as you claim you wouldn't need someone elses opinion.....retard.

  • I know right , that's just insane lol..

    nice comment bro

  • ;lol

  • your like 30 or some shit lmao

  • no cuz that means you must be deformed or something, go see a doctor

  • Yes thats ok you're getting there, im 14 and weigh 160, bench 225 for 40 reps and i don't make anywhere near as much noise as these guys. Really you want to be doing double bodyweight for 30+reps, thats what this big 200lb guy told me at the gym.

  • Haha 40 reps at 225 pounds would have beat everyone at the NFL combine this year and your 14 and weigh 160 pounds? How can you lie that bad?

  • freaking lil lier

  • Now THAT'S benching. Most guys doing plates for reps only do half reps. This guy did FULL extension reps!!

  • What are his stats? Height, body weight?

    Pretty damn strong!

  • He looks like he might be 5'11" and 190 lbs.

  • Obviously very strong but you arn't getting propper leg drive. I still don't know why 225 repping is a sign of strength, surly a better sign would be your' 1 RM.

  • Football uses 225lb rep test so it doesnt make the QB's and Kickers feel bad when they lift 150lbs less then a linemen, so instead they make it so they do 15 less reps

  • Cud u guys comment on my bench pressing video Cheers

  • cool i can get like 48 reps with 225 lbs but i am 6 foot 290 lbs compare to those middle weight guys....good bench though...

  • really, can you post a vid of you doing that?

  • lol, no he can't because he can't actually do it.

  • canvasguy: sure, lemme go take some roids first man

  • I can only bench 225 like 3 times tops, but I am only 14 right now...is this good

  • when i was 5 i was benching 1000 MOTHER FUCKING POUNDS!!!! is that good???? i think i got so strong cause everyday at 13 o clock i would pick fresh carrots off the trees and eat em raw.. and i can FLY with my MIND POWERS!!!

  • That mans sternum probly hurt like a bitch after being attacked like that.

  • he almost got 23.22 1/2.i can bench 225 for 10 reps.

  • no you cant

  • I weigh 183 and I can do 15 reps on 225 . My max bench is only 285 though . Is that good ? It sounds low to me . I actually did impress a couple big dudes in my gym by military pressing 205 for 3 reps .

  • who cares

  • well how old are you, its sounds good to me, im 16 bout to turn 17 and i bench press 305 for my max but for 225 i can only get it about 12-13 reps, im working on my chest endurance right now

  • don't work on chest endurance, you should work on horizontal push endurance

  • dude dont lie about your weights its really not cool

  • yeah that would be really good if you could actually do it but you more than likely cant, because if you could you wouldnt be asking is that good

  • lol what a bunch of douchebags talking about his form and ego...

    good job bro

  • benching quickly is not bad form. you preform in the weight room as you would on the field. you need power and speed on the field, so lift with power and speed in the weight room

  • All the complaints about "form" are missing the point: this isn't a regular training session; it's a TEST. He wants to get as many reps as possible, and he's not going to get as many reps by going slow.

Complaining about form here is like going to a hot-dog eating contest and complaining about table manners...

  • That training environment is whats needed to breed champions

  • It is impossible to 'bounce' the weight. For those that don't believe me get yourself in the gym and throw on about 100 lbs more than you can do and see if you can 'bounce' it up.

In benching for reps, bad form is expected. Fast on the way down, bouncing, arching of the back, and 2/3 to 3/4 reps are the norm.

I hit 225 for 27 back in February and I'm sure my form sucked on most of them.Who cares, I challenge the whiners on here crying about form to hit 225 for 27 with any from they want.

  • lol, I love the form police pussies. Do any of you really think anyone gives a shit what you guys think. I bet most of you couldn't do 1 rep with 135lbs..."I can't lift that much but I use what I perceive as proper form" Shut the fuck up!

  • using your back/legs and bouncing would == FAIL! Otherwise good lift

  • notice how he's got no chest, thats what you get for using SHIT form.............. next time leave your ego at home , lightweight

  • thats how you have to lift if you're going for reps testing for football

    its about strength not looks

  • I agree with that observation. For the amount of work he did he should have very well developed pecs. The fact he has not indicates his body isn't benefiting from the exercise as well as it would had he maintaned correct form. But what has benefitted which is clear to see is his ego. So was this gathering meant to exercise their egos?

  • That's really good ish 165 I CAN MAtch em!!! that's pretty good man nice start hommie

  • I wonder how many ribs he cracked bouncing that barbell of his chest

  • 3 lol

  • bouncing it off ur chest doesnt even hurt

  • ok, now lets see him do it with is legs up. he gets all his force out of his lower back. Bad shit dude, you could get hernia's and shit. I could bench 110 if i'd do that, but i do it proper. Still stuck @ 95 though

  • 95 lbs fuuuuck thats weak.

  • lol you for real??????? Im 13 and I bench 135..

You better be my age or younger...

  • me too but i lift 150

  • you weak haha

  • whole shitload of bouncing, but still bananas that he can press 225 22 times.

  • In football I think they call it "explosiveness" not "bouncing".

  • sports training and bodybuilding is different when it comes to the lifts especially. you want to train fast to be fast..explosiveness.

  • that was awesome, been there , done that, its no joke !

just try and not bounce it off your chest next time

  • Bitches please! You can always tell the haters by reading the comments. Get your back on the bench and buck 225 as many times as he did. Anybody who as ever tried knows what's up! My dude was abeast! Get your swag up haters or go home...

  • yeah lol that was retarded... dropping the weight back down and bouncing the bar off his chest.. no wonder he could do so many reps

  • No, it doesn't bounce the bar. If you know anything about Physics, that is called reversing momentum and actually requires more force, much like bouncing powerclean.

  • Lol, good try, but no. As someone who just claimed to know something about physics you should know very well that you're exerting far less force during the eccentric movement. When the bar comes back down on your chest, the normal force makes up for what you did not produce with your muscles (also, the chess does indeed compress, but you're right in that it doesn't produce a lot of momentum).

Basically, what bouncing the bar does is cheat on your negative. It's way easier. Period.

  • i'm 16 and i could do around 25 reps of 225

  • maybe, BenchBoyee, but even if you aren't a liar, then you're a genetic superman and a stupid basis for comparison.

  • Do you know how much 225lbs is? It's most likely a lot heavier than you, it's like 110kg.

  • LOL 225lbs is 100kg.

  • he need to keep his feet on the ground

  • This exercise of reps is done for EXPLOSIVITY and stamina. If he was bodybuilding, he would be doing it wrong but he's NOT A BODYBUILDER. He is 10 times more dangerous then any bodybuilder can ever be due to the explosive speed and power he gains from these quick chest bounce reps. This is the MOST EFFECTIVE and CORRECT way to bench press for any sports.

  • Lol, dangerous

  • he is doing it wrong, sure that could qualify as a bench press but you are not benching 225 when you use the momentum of the bar bouncing off of your chest that completely defeats the purpose of the bench press

  • hes doin it correctly. therent isnt supposed to be a negitive in the 225 press. if u watch any combines this is how all football athletes are supposed to lift. football lifts are all about fast twitch, and being explosive. not to bulk, this is not bodybuilding...he is doing it the correct way and hes doin it well.

  • this is exactly true and this is also why they teach football players to clean because in football you need to be explosive

  • heys doing it fine if you watch he brings it all the way down you can do it fast or slow faster doesnt work out all the muscles like going slow does and go to the weight room every day hes doing fine if he wants to do a better work out he should slow down but he doesnt have to

  • Typical loud-mouthed yanks.

  • yeh for the 15 year old keep it up...im 17 and i max out at 405 possibly could get it out for 4 actually but i dnt wanna tear my shoulder...but i juice once a year so haha

  • dude its not controled, he needs 2 slow it down its pretty much bouncing up n down, hes not doing it right

  • Now those are some complete reps wth nice full elbow lockouts. Excellent job!

There are several other videos showing half or 3/4 reps with 225 benching. Way easier than doing a full complete rep.

  • im 15 it took me 3 months 2 hit 225 i weight 175lb and i bench press 275lb bout a good 5 times a my max is 315 all natural my older bro weights about 145lb and he benches 300lb bout twice and he maxes 325lb but im guessin u max bout 350lb ima try 2 step my weight up

  • im 16 5 11' and weight 225

took about 8 months to get to 225 bench press

now im up to 275 all natural

  • im 6'2'' 220... it took me 8 months to get to bench 315 6 times from not working out for a year and my max when i started was 175... kinda depends on your suppliments... im taking in at least 200 grams of protien a day spread out to amino acids glutamine and some NO3...be patient... find out what you measure to then build from there every week

  • this guy is a beast....i just started working out and i have a question for all who could do 225, how long did it take you to reach that weight? i have a year and a half working out and i weigh 170. my 1 rep max is 210 but i can´t get up to 225

  • ite took me about a month, but my start max was about 190. I think there is something wrond with your routine if you have worked out for one and a half year, it could also be overtraining

  • A few things. First good lift to the guy in the video. To the person below shut the hell up 15 on a good day. Whenever you hear say something like on a good day you know your listening to a liar. I also see people are critical off the fast reps but you have to remember in football your are trying to build up your fast twitch muscle fibers aka be explosive so is not optimal to train slow.

  • strong dude!!!im 17 i only can get 225 maybe 15 if its on a good good day =] but i max out 405 for 2 so its all good

  • Not true. Bench pressing 225 15 times does not equate to a 405 bench press. Thats ridiculous.

  • i agree.

    i bench 225 14 times

and i am no where near 405 bench press.

  • It equates to about 330 pounds

  • That was damn solid.

  • diesel

  • its a test to see how many times he can do it...not a workout...doing a slow eccentric would jus lower the number of reps he would put out.

  • thats wos dumb

  • 22 reps at 2 plates is alot still i cant even lie.. but with those speed reps there's no negative and you're gettin bounce off your chest.. be careful cause you can mess up your rib cage.. but good stuff..

  • he pretty much does no negative, but i wouldnt say that hes weak at all. all i would say is that his max probably isnt as high as somebody who can do 225 for 22 solid reps.

  • wut u talkin baout this guy threw it up 22 times who gives afuck by means he is not weak he prolly weighs wut like 190 lbs or so

  • his ass comes off at the end a little bit , but honestly who am I to be talking my max is only 275

  • I can't beleive I seem to be the first to point this out: He's lifting the weight WAY too fast, that's NOT a workout, I don't even know what that is. I do one rep for every 3-4 reps that he does. I just tried for fun to "workout" like he does and I did 2-4 times more reps than I do when working out properly (with slow reps). If you want results, you have to slow down significantly. And yea, you need to workout those legs.

  • lol i aggree. i do slow reps and my bench went up 40 pounds from november to now

  • you are a stupid, ignorant jackass. First, its a rep test...not a workout. The primary goal is not muscle building, it is strength-endurance testing. Second, every kid at the gym can prob out-squat you(That kid holds the squat record under 220 lbs). Third, think for a second before you emit that shit for your brain idiot.

  • Just so you know, recent research has shown that an explosive concentric lifting speed actually shows a higher metabolic cost (work) than a slow rep speed. Just because it feels harder does not mean that it is more effective. And lifting fast will probably increase his rate of force developement as well. So he is probably a much more explosive athlete than you. So please watch and learn before you speak.

  • Agreed.

  • Someone never went through football offseason. lol

  • i remember working out in hschool in the gym and seeing the football guys doing reps like these.

  • This guy lifts his butt off the bench for every rep. I'd like to see this guy squat. haha. He has twigs for legs.

  • well yeah his form was sloppy but the 225 pound bench press is just suppose to be a power/speed test I think they kind of sacrific form just want to see how much you can explode a certain amount of weight, thats how it seems anyways.

But yeah he needs to use a powerlifting back arch, or just keep his back flat on the bench.

  • click on luis altamiranda he holds the squat record! feel like a dumbass yet b/c he's stronger than you?

  • that's about 20 pounds less than my max

  • Very good reps, especially at your bodyweight. 175lbs?

  • now those were good reps. props brah gj!

  • wow! very nice i battle with 10, BRAVO!

  • good enviorment to work out in everyone pushing eachother

  • I think he was just trying to push him to get it up.

Brady Quinn did 225lbs 24 times

  • Reggie Bush did it for 26 times i believe...plus brady quinn sucks

  • bush did 24 as well

  • Does anybody want to shut the guy up, knock it out the punk probably can't even do 225. He is probably just bothering that guy. What a jackass!

  • youve obviously never been in a weight room...

  • strong fuckiing guy puts me to shame i can only pull 5 right now at 225

  • how many reps can the "lock it out guy" do?

  • Dude screaming "Lock it out" sounds like a fuckin jackass

  • fuck it the guy is strong!

  • I appreciate people who yell all that crap out during a set. I like the motivation.

  • exellent form

  • pretty good, full extension, excellent form

    great,

  • that song is "dmx - intro"

  • Who's the clown with the whiney voice screaming, "Lock it out!" The first thing I'd do after getting up off the bench is knock him out.

  • yea, i personally don't like anyone to scream or try to motivate me during a lift...cause i just want quite concentration

  • Thats their environment, everyones pushing each other and competing.

    Good work tho.

  • what beat is playing in the background?

  • Sweet first one to comment on this video, great form, speed and weight, 22 reps is amazing at that rate.
