The factory trigger is simple to adjust, once you take the two bolts out and pull the trigger out , you will see how simple it really is. Thanks for posting.
keefertopher, do you have any tips or links to adjusting the factory trigger? Hopefully my rifle will be here in a few days and I'm already thinking about getting another in 30/06 or .300 Win Mag for deer! Do you know of any aftermarket recoil pads also? Many thanks mate! Cheers!
Just bought a Stevens 200 in 22.250 today along with a cheap arse Bushnell Banner 6-18 x 50. Should get it in a week. Will post results. Did you install an aftermarket trigger or smith the one on it? Cheers.
@oncall21 ... sweet, was reading about 50 grain ammo today for the 22-250, 4000 ft per sec from the muzzle, should be a great shooter. look out yotes...lol.. and I just tweeked the stock trigger. breaks at 2.3lbs no creep at all.
@oncall21 , inside half an inch. had to do some tweaking but she shoots nice now.
adjusted the trigger, took the rifle apart, and used locktite on all the screws , also ran fifty rounds through it. but I ran a patch through after every shot , very nice action.
@7stevel not me my next rifle will be in 204 ruger or 223 for varmit shooting. 308 is capable of taking every animal in north america, never shot a 270.
I absolutely love this gun, got another scope for it a Bushnell legend 600 DOA, figure it will be better for hunting. The only thing I dont like is the grey color, was thinking about painting it camo or just a straight dessert tan.
@keefertopher Awesome, I absolutely love my Stevens 200 in 308 as well. I'm going to paint my OD green. I'm more of a long range shooter and I believe this gun can deliver results in the right hands. :)
i have had one of these stevens model 200 .243 for a few years it came with a bsa air rifle scope on it it was a crapy scope so i bought a new one now it shoots better than any other gun i have great gun best ammo to use is federal i have the same bipod too this is one great gun for target and varmet shooting i'd recomend it to anyone they are cheap and reliable my overall fav out of my 7 guns
