little tip for the next time (if you happen to run across a non-working CD player again)
the noises the mechanism makes (or doesn't make) while trying to read the disc could pinpoint to where the problem is..
ie: non working spingle motor, screeching sounds from the laser trying to track/focus (worn out or dirty laser), tracking gear failure so it can't move the laser across the disc (messed up gears from shipping for ex.)
talking all the way through a vid like this is the least helpful thing
I have same unit in my test bench at work (Gold face though) and mine does the same thing. Will send it to get laser serviced. Regardless, the A100 is a nice deck,
