Peter, Come on now. You say we bought trinkets but we need to make widgets to export. Could you suggest an item that the world is buying that we can make and sell at a profit that the Chinese are not already producing ?
Not True. The Chinese are rapidly catching up like the Japanese of the 50's. By the time we get our act together it will be too late. The Chinese are a highly intelligent and technical Society. We are through.
the answer is the auto workers getting paid $60 per hour plus 40,000 per year in benifits have to start working for $9 per hour with no benifits untill america saves enough to have real capital to put behind those workers who can then be productive enough to regain their high wage

Chinese has labor but we have better tools and technology. Once our economy comes down to a rational level, the net export will be more balance.
