That "noise" must be from the rusty exhaust on the 19th century turbo charged diesel engine. Why would you expect moving water to be quiet?

  • If it's water-powered, what's making all that noise?

It sounds more like a pump/engine than it does a saw or a system of belts and pulleys?

  • 56TonyT - Tom, this is in Sherbrooke Village on Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore, or are you 'just sayin'?

  • This is in Sherbrooke Village on Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore.

  • Great!

  • I'm not sure if it is a single blade if it is still a sash saaw or if it is called a gang saw. I have heard a multy bladed rig just lilke this one being called a sash saw and also a gang saw. I wonder witch is correct?

  • Where is this and if I want to see it myself how do I get there? Is there a google map site or an address anywhere?

  • @56TonyT Googles it, Nova Scotia

  • incredible!!! wow!!

That is really something amazing to see.

Completely water driven? does it have an edger?

    how are the logs loaded?

    neat, neat, neat...!

  • The logs are dragged from a large pond with a chain. Then they are rolled onto the carriage. I guess by edger you mean some kind of planer, which they don't need. The log is cut and then turned to the fresh cut flat side.
