I think, this is the most awesome series ever, because it takes martial arts serious! No speed of light e.t.c.....okay, there are SOME things that are pretty usual for anime, like his last technique (Koetsuji-Style), the opponent actually doesn't "Fly".....but for real, this series is so FUCKING AWESOME!

What this manga does, is take known facts and martial arts, and takes it out of proportions. The training kenichi gets are no where near anything any human can survive. Niijima has alien technology. Kenichi gets this strong in less than a year of training, and he gets even stronger after about a year and a half or two years.

Well, you see, the training he got in the first episodes of the anime are something that isn't impossible.

I dunno how it is in the manga, but even though it seems impossible, it actually IS possible.

If I was to talk about what my master told me about some shaolin-temples, I'd say they're even worse.

And I think that Nijima-Stuff ist actually only....well, like a running gag.

@Dannyboyyay maybe the training itself isn't impossible, but not the level of training he got. Nor does the fact that he actually dies while training.(and revived by kensei...) I remind you, kenichi is talentless, and he starts off probably weaker than honoka in strength.

HSDK is a shonen anime/manga, and just like any other shonen, it's over-exaggerated. deal with it.

btw, the elder can run on water, there's nothing normal about that.

@Dannyboyyay sort of, I actually started about a month ago with wushu. I'd say I'm pretty damn bad.

In the past I've been about one and a half years at karate, I sucked at it for all I remember.I got to yellow belt iirc, but I remember nothing of what I've been taught.

also, what I meant wasn't that the mangaka didn't do the research, he did, he just took it up to eleven, added some stuff of his own. I read this manga because it's entertaining, funny, and at least as good as one piece.

@DarkChaos110 I'd like to add, what you said in the first post, about the throw kenichi performed, iirc, in the manga he didn't go as far, and in the manga, the distances between kenichi and ryuuto were smaller(for example when he "changed" into apachai, the distance wasn't that far.)

Only thing I found dissappointing of the series was the 2nd season, it was more like "I read the rythm of your movements, thus, I can deflect them all" or "I can hear the melody your movements make, thus, I can dodge them", and the martial arts part went a little over the top, some moves were not possible.

But I guess I'm one of the only who thinks like this, my damn Pencak Silat training gets in the way of martial art animes.
