No! Please don't try limewire! That's a good way to download a virus. The Gnutella network is chock full of viruses.

Torrents are much safer.

Do a search for a program called 'utorrent'

Then to find torrents use these search terms.

-"The thing you want to find" Torrent

ex: Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy Torrent

Then open the download with utorrent.

A nice thing about torrents is you don't have to download the entire torrent.

Say you type "Tchaikovsk torrent" and find a torrent that is 4GB.

when you open the .torrent file with utorrent, you can chose to download only the files you need. So you don't have to wait for the whole thing.

Seed has a few meanings.

You'll see Seeds (4)45 or something like that. That means that there are 45 people on the network who have 100% of the Torrent on their system. And you are connected to 4 of them.

Peers (19)125 means 125 people who have a portion of the file, you are connected to 19

You download bits from both groups.

Once you have 100% of the file you are considered a Seed. and you will continue to send data. You can stop seeding by right clicking and clicking on STOP.

It is a good idead to allow yourself to upload a little bit. Or your connection speed might suffer.

I usually allow 10KB/s upload maximum.

If you don't upload at all you are not a 'Peer' but a 'Leech'. Some programs will detect this and limit your download speed accordingly.
