  • thankx a lot

  • Using this method bracing a bow will eventually cause a limb to twist at which time if the bow is a 1-piece bow you can hang the bow on a wall for a conversation piece. If it's a takedown bow you can buy a new limb or limbs if they (limbs) are available, which they are not always. If it's a newly purchased (modern) bow and you use this method the mfg will not honor any warranty.

  • Just want to add that if you brace your bow to often this way, that it will probably twist/bend your limbs... though it can be very helpful sometimes

  • i could destring it like this but not restring. The Pull and Whatever its made out of (feels like some kind of metal but probably isn't) makes it too hard to bend like that. Had to order a stinger =/

  • thanks so much you are so awesome it helped alot!

  • I bought a bow Polaris Samick today and in shop recomend me, that bow string should bend two people in order that the bow was not damage. Now I tryed it by your video alone.. it is soo easy. You very helped me! Thanks for this video.

  • This helped alot! Not on how to string my gpas bow but to realize that he had it wrong and that he left the wrong string lol

  • @SocialNetworkWhore That and it looks like its wayy out of curve as well

  • thank you so much for this vid!

you have no idea how much this vid helped me!

  • I used to be in to archery... then I took an arrow to the knee

  • Thanks dude!

  • THX Bro!!! Great trick!!!!

  • Wow nice video but if I done this at my club they would fire me. But I still will when I'm shooting somewhere else thank you.

  • thx this was a gr8 help

  • you are the man with the plan! no longer do i need to engage in mortal combat with my bow, and my arrows will again fly into the targets in and around where i point it!

  • This trick worked great for me! thanks!

  • What do you say to people who say that this technique adds unnecessary stress to the limbs that could end up snapping them? And, if you could choose between this method and a stringer, which would you prefer?

  • it keeps sliding out of the grooves on the lower limb

    help?

  • @petterus23 when its strung or when ur trying to string it?, if its already strung ur limb is deformed otherwise hold the string tighter while applying pressure/

  • @0xxRawr0xx0 its when i string it, but i have solved it with a robberband, but thanks for answering

  • good vid i spent a very long time trying to brace my friends recurve bow wish i had of watched this vid then

  • glad it helped! hope he enjoys his new bow!

  • Thank you so much for the help, we gave our son a recurve bow for his birthday and didn’t find out how to brace it. Thanks.

  • I just strung up my new PSE Kingfisher and this method worked like a charm, thanks mate.

  • It is very important to keep the lower end of the bow BEHIND the leg. Some folks just put it behind the foot, but the danger with that is if the bow slips, the upper tip can tear out your eye so keep the bow behind the calf of the leg, that pushes the upper tip out away from the face.

  • Best video yet for this method of stringing a bow....very concise....thanks!

  • I think I could use this method because I forgot to buy a stringer

  • thank you for the video, i just bought a 45# recurve and the stringer doesnt work, so i used this method to string it.

    Thanks

  • my bow is to strong to do that, the curves go back too far

  • Dude I don't know exactly how many #s my bow is off the top of my head but it is basically impossible for me to use this method. :)

  • @mxc3000 i do it with my 80# longbow YOUR JUST WEAK

  • good job

  • ya, probably not the best method but if you ever don't have access to a stringer then this method is a last resort that is dependable in me book.

  • thanks!! really useful!

  • Thanks dh. I'm about to sell a Ben Pearson 7330 recurve on eBay, now. You helped me alot. Peaceout.

  • can u tell me where can i buy a recurve bow like that one? internet pages or somethiing :P

  • @PNhooligan I think my husband brought mine from Gander (online)

  • What # would you recomend for me? because my nooby pound bow can only do 34#'s LOL my weight is right around 170-180 lb's and almost 15 so what would you say?

  • @crasdj would you recomend this for a take-down bow too?

  • I've used this method on a 30# longbow. You need to be very sure the string is firmly attached at both ends.

A stringer is easier, and safer, but it's good to know this method also. Nice instructional video. Thanks.

  • @dmgm1970 i use this same method with my 57# longbow. its a little harder to make sure the recurve strings stay on properly but have used same method with my 40# recurve but seriousy good look bring your stringer out in a feild if you have any problem. why bring another thing when your body is a the best tool

  • Just an FYI: This method can damage (warp) limbs. You should try to always use a bow stringer or a bow stringing block. There is another method where you put the tip of the limb in the arch of your foot with the risor towards and string away from you. You pull the risor towards you while holding the string and other limb in your other hand until you are able to slide the string into the grooves. The later method is very dangerous and you can loose an eye or sustain other injuries.

  • Thanks for the video, that was really helpful and well made!!

  • how long does arrow fly with that bow?

  • 100 yards probably, its not like your going to snipe some deer from a long distance

  • thx for help ;-)

i bought myself a new recurve today, but i didn't know if you had to string it the same way as a traditional :P

so thx for the help agian

  • When you buy a recurve do they usually come with a bow stringer?

  • is that an spe buckeye recurve bow?

  • LOL It's not so easy with my 73# bow :)))

  • Thanks, man. I'm borrowing a bow from my friend and i forgot how he said to do this.

  • lol can brace and unbrace my 60" recuve bow, lik apiece o cake, easier than drinking coke.

  • Well done video, but only use this method in a pinch. It can still twist limbs. Always use a bow stringer whenever possible, and carry a backup stringer in case you lose one.

  • i tried this and it was to hard with my bow. is a 50 lbs pull to much for this method?

  • if you cant do this, how do you brace it normally then?

  • i have a limb saver.

  • with a pow stringer only like 10 bucks

  • No. Instead of wrapping on your right leg, touch the tip to the ground.

  • Thank you for posting this. I was taught a one legged method that hurts your ankle...

  • nice and really cool

  • I like the vid. Well done!

  • God bless you guys for making this video! Keep up the good work. Chints, UK

  • Dude thanks so much! no one dose this anymore >> they all have fancy shit to do it! hellz yeah old school! thanks! hadn't used my bow in a while, thank you!

  • Great video, I didn't know strining a bow was that interesting :)

  • i think it is samick bow~

  • what bow is that???

  • is that a buck eye from the heritage series made by pse

  • great video man!!!

  • nice! I'm new to archery but i just dont like using the stringer, so i'm gonna try your method.. hope it doesnt explode :P

  • this was definitly for a highschool program of archery am i wrong? My gymnasium has the same gold up benches like in the video.

  • Well Done

  • nicely done!

  • appreciate that man

  • Thanks, man. The old guy at the store showed me a similar method. But his required that I get more personal with my bow than I want to be. . . The "Ass Crack Method" I think he called it. Once again, thank you for showing me that I don't have to do that every time I need to unbrace my bow.

  • wow man thanks!!
