NBC linked across a number of its shows in that time period. If the guest star turns and that blackout stunt/storyline are to be believed, Seinfeld, Friends, Caroline in the City, Mad About You and the Single Guy all existed in the same world. So did one short lived show, called Madman of the People. Ursula, Phoebe's twin sister, was a waitress at Riff's, the cafe that was featured numerous times on Mad About You.
NBC was big on these kinds of gimmicky "events" for a time in the mid-'90s.
I remember there was a "Blackout Thursday" around that same time, where the "Mad About You" characters somehow caused a massive power outage in NYC that affected all the rest of the night's shows.
Of course, NBC having all those interchangeable yuppiecoms set in Manhattan made it easy for them to do this kind of stuff.
Which didn't you know? Any of the crossovers? I thought Chandler on 'Caroline' was pretty well known, amongst 'Friends' fans. A lot of people don't know it was Caroline from 'Caroline in the City' on 'Friends', I know... they just thought she was some pretty red-head, or they knew it was Lea Thompson, but didn't catch the significance. Few remember Ross being on 'Single Guy' (smile) That show didn't last long.

So, all three episodes aired on the same date? Does that imply that they all took place on the same day?
I kinda like that idea - it sort of implies that, after fending Ross off with a kiwi lime pie, Chandler got changed and decided to rent a video.
