You know, the Werehog makes the game seem like it was meant to be another Sonic and Knuckles game. Think about it, the Werehog stages are set up like Knuckles stages, you get points for finding things, you have to fight, and there are many points when you have climb and go over huge gaps. Also the story hints to this, because you have to go through ancient ruins. As we have learned, exploring ruins and fighting are Knuckles' strongpoints.
If it would've been Knuckles, htough, I'd have to wonder how they'd explain the stretchy arms. Knuckles doesn't have stretchy arms.
It's actually mostly the Wii/PS2 version where the night stages are set i crumbling ruins. A large portion of the night stages in the 360/PS3 version take place in the cities and villages.
Dr. Eggman releases a god-like being called Dark Gaia from the center of the Earth, and it causes the planet to break up into seven floating continents. Sonic needs to use the power of the Chaos Emeralds to reassemble the planet.
It makes absolutely no sense, but that's part of the charm.
Come to think of it, it does make some sense: the main point of the game is the werehog mutation sonic suffers, and it´s provoqued by pingasman i mean... eggman, who after a lot of fails, realizes that he needs to neutralize the energy of the chaos emeralds to prevent sonic to go super and break his plans again... and boy, does eggman own sonic at the begginig of the game! with the energy he drains he awakens dark gaia, simple as that
Black Knight is like Sonic uses a Sword as I heard.Now Sega, is doing games from Sonic that are non sense, but the graphics are very improved, but good ol' times are those from Mega Drive.:)
Okay, I know it's weird for Sonic to have a sword but, Sonic and the Black Knight ROCKS. I mean the sword actually makes the game faster, in a way. Instead of having to do a bunch of homing attacks, which you can't deny that it's very delayed with a bunch of bad guys, you can just jump and slash through enemies without stopping.
About the online question, I have been wondering if the Wii had online Time Trial leaderboards [like Sonic Riders Zero G], but if you say the manual doesn't have any evidence on it...
Anyways, the 360 box-cover [version I'm getting] has the Xbox LIVE symbol, so does that mean the 360 version has leaderboards..?

Yeah, I get the feeling the Xbox360/PlayStation 3 version is the "real" version of the game. If I had either of those two systems, I'd wait for that one instead. So I'll just wait for someone to put up a nice comprehensive playthrough here on YouTube.
