I think she killed the Marten. Evil woman. Why would you want to trap it if you live in its natural habitat. Martens aren't nuisance like raccoons are.

Relocating animals further than 1 km. away is illegal in Canada as 60% die trying to find their way back to their home range... the other 40% die by territorial disputes or starvation... so next time you feel like trapping and relocating, please call a licensed trapper and let him kill the animal humanely... thanks

Yah, we do love the wild life around here, still have to check the Kermode den to see if Apollo is sleeping there.

We trapped a baby marten the other day, was so cute, we just let him go and he hasn't returned. Often just being trapped for a few minutes scares them from returning.
