Oh, to capture just one drop of all the ecstasy that swept that afternoon, to paint that love upon a white balloon, and fly it from the topest top of all the tops, that man has pushed beyond his brain, satori must be something just the same
Hey lovers.. I first heard this 20 years ago as a 20 yr old...(yeh)...but can anyone tell mewhat 'satori' actually is? cos i've allllwwwaaays wondered!? THANKS FOR ANY WISDOM / KNOWLEDGE.The sun machine is comin down....... ;)
'Satori' is a Japanese word which means realizing something.
Also in Buddhism 'satori' means attainning spiritual enlightnment of Buddha. It is said that people can get to 'satori' after throwing away some dark thoughts like desires, obsessions, boubts etc..from their mind.
This was on a "top ten favorites song list" online, from (ex Bauhaus) singer Peter Murphy recently. He isn't just talented, he has great taste in music as well :)
Bliss, my perfect day gets even better, that video is amazing.
I'm back at Old Trafford, Manchester in the pouring rain and "Suede " are doing a poor "Bowie" tribute and then later the clouds part, the sun breaks through and David Bowie strides out and delivers a superb performance.
He was a genious when I was 15 and his brilliance is just as bright now that I am close to 60 I f it wasn't for Mr Bowie -glam -new romantic or punk would never have been and the world would be a sadder place.Thank you!!!!
Very poetic - eerie too. This is very beginning of Mick Ronson's career with David Bowie. Imagine all the great music Ronson would have made if he had lived. Sadly missed, Ronno
This song really captures the essence of London in the late sixties or early seventies-full of (naive?) blissed out optimism-but there's nothing wrong with peace, love and harmony, right?
Happy birthday David!!!!!!!

God I love him. Wished I was alive back in the 60's and 70's so I could have seen him live. This is what real music is.
