Listening to this guy, I felt like playing Max Payne:) I'm too atheist an I am too reconsidering suicide. I don't have any "debts to pay",child to raise - any reasons to stay. I was speaking with psychiatrist - he said only: get yourself together, he didn't prescribe me any drugs. I do not regret that there is no afterlife - I contempt pathetic people who motivate their deeds only by hope of prize in heaven - Einstein called them "feeble spirits". I regret only that I can't find any motivation.

If you're considering suicide I implore you to speak to your loved ones because though you won't be here to see the effects of your death, your loss will reverberate throughout the lives of your loved ones and it will be a burden they'll live with until they themselves go. I've lived with depression my whole life and I know for certain, with patience and effort life does get better.

I've tried to find a motivation. People in depression thanks to drugs (prozac, refused to me) found the job, started a family and are happy. God doesn't give people special indestructable bodies to enable them to feel torture. The soul feels pain, not the body. The body in itself is a numb shell that can sense no pain. The soul ( i.e.; spirit , ghost) that inhabits and brings consience to the body actually feels the pain. In the world, the body with its central nervous system is a "tool" used by the soul which has no intelliegence or reception of stimulus in itself. Ths soul sees and thinks, not the brain.

@786myfist The brain is a tool used by the soul to express itself. When you see something , what is doing the seeing? The soul, not the brain. The eyes and brain supplies the information in the form of electronic wave patterns that the soul interpets and reacts to. When the brain dies the soul lives on but can no longer have an expression in the physical world. The body is a temporary shell. The body doesn't feel anger, love or hatred. These are from the soul in reaction to the body stimulus.

I disagree with your opinion that one shouldn't commit suicide simply because of the emotional responses of the surviving loved-ones. You can rationalize the pro-life movement however you want. Nevertheless, the bottom line is that one's life is one's own.
We need to alter society's ethos on basic human rights. We need to promote secular humanism alongside atheism and (philosophical) materialism. Suicide need not a stigma.

I was speaking with psychiatrist - he said only: get yourself together, he didn't prescribe me any drugs. I do not regret that there is no afterlife - I contempt pathetic people who motivate their deeds only by hope of prize in heaven - Einstein called them "feeble spirits". God doesn't give people special indestructable bodies to enable them to feel torture. The soul feels pain, not the body. The body in itself is a numb shell that can sense no pain. The soul ( i.e.; spirit , ghost) that inhabits and brings consience to the body actually feels the pain. In the world, the body with its central nervous system is a "tool" used by the soul which has no intelliegence or reception of stimulus in itself. Ths soul sees and thinks, not the brain.

The eyes and brain supplies the information in the form of electronic wave patterns that the soul interpets and reacts to. When the brain dies the soul lives on but can no longer have an expression in the physical world. The body is a temporary shell. The body doesn't feel anger, love or hatred. These are from the soul in reaction to the body stimulus.

I disagree with your opinion that one shouldn't commit suicide simply because of the emotional responses of the surviving loved-ones. You can rationalize the pro-life movement however you want. Nevertheless, the bottom line is that one's life is one's own.
We need to alter society's ethos on basic human rights. We need to promote secular humanism alongside atheism and (philosophical) materialism. Suicide need not a stigma.
Death is, after all, just as normal as being born. :)

Laugh all you want. Call me lame, OK. But at that moment of my life I was in depair, desparate to know if He was real. Life seemed pointless to me. God knew my situation & my desparate heart. The tree wasn't magically stop, God did it, no magic. It was a miracle. I KNOW He did it. He did it because I asked and He knew when He did it I would believe.

Some things that must be pointed out. First, we don't even know if this alleged even ever occurred. We don't know if you were ever an Atheist -- it's very likely that you weren't. And furthermore, we don't know if anything you say is true. You actually strike me as a pathological liar. I'm sure others will agree. It's very easy to spout stories without any kind of evidence. Suicide is always an option but often it is a perment solution for a temporary problem. Not all cultures fear death. Death can be as sweet as the life you lived or as sour. Do not fear death it has no sting.

Morality is the product of two things that have nothing to do with any gods or goddesses. The first is our brain. The other is our emotional hardware. Through a combination of the two we can figure out right from wrong. It's really that simple!

It's also from your experiences you've had with your friends, co-workers, family and so on -- all of which contributed to your view on the subject.
