i think they use sound signals to control the Infrared LED . As we have two channels (left and right). the application uses one channel as the power signal (dc) and the other one as the control signal ..... i haven't thought about that ...hmmm... so bad that the output and the input are limited ( sound amplifier just support 20-20Khz) unless we could use it as a communication device .

You used a RedEye app on the iPhone which has the iPhone connect over wifi to a redeye base which forwards commands to tv and other devices.

heh nothing really that special i did this on my psp and hes just converting the headphone jack signal into infrared due to the device he's using, the only hard thing is just making the apps for the iphone/ipod touch anyways nontheless awesome because its on an iphone ;-)

The wicked thing is that they use the earphone jack, seems there are a lot of functionalities you can use it with.

I assume this also works with the iTouch 2G, since it supports mic.
