I dunno. I guess nothing's wrong with that. I think that's how it is in Mecca...at least, that's what my grandparents made it sound like. My grandparents said the men and women were all together which makes me think that women and men were mixed... Women sitting in the back is just how it is... Unless the masjid is full, women actually sit diagonal to the men I'm pretty sure. I've never been to a mosque without separate rooms so I don't really know everything about that subject...

The reason it's like that is because Islam was born admist a culture that oppressed women and Islam did little to change this. Just like slavery was a part of pre-Islamic Arabia and the Quran didn't forbid this practise. Islam did improve the lot of women some but overall it is till oppressive towards them.

Pitiful attempt. The hadith says filled with women. In Islam few women should be damn near all in heaven if Islam is so loving and caring for women as you all claim. If you think about it more men should be in hell seeing how they control everything.

Allah (swt) is just, He places people in Heaven and Hell according to what they have done in this world. If the woman doesnt obey His rules then she will get punished unless she makes repentance. The same goes to the man.

Allah Almighty clearly prohibits for Muslim men to harm their wives:
"...Do not retain them (i.e., your wives) to harm them...( 2:231)"

No women get the back. If they get their OWN part of the masjid WHY NOT THE FRONT OR SIDE BY SIDE? What about all the honor killings in Saudi and all over the middle east. In the west women can drive they aren't allowed to in Saudi. In Morocco a woman can't leave the country without the permission from a male family member.
