  • 1:36 weight loss part

  • He's a fairly decent actor but he has plenty of dedication(without the anorexic hurling of a supermodel) to the role.He is practically emaciated and I dont know of any actor that has went to such an extreme for the industry

  • ISN'T HE BRITISH OR AUSTRALIAN? WHY IS HE SPEAKING LIKE AN AMERICAN

  • @djcruzify He is from wales. He's always playing american people so i guess he's use to it

  • Did anyone else realize that the movie was duplicated?

  • But his body in the movie is real or fake ??!! (so skinny)

  • @rockabdechafi4ever how could it have been fake??! how would that be possible a fake skinny body

  • @rockabdechafi4ever real, he actually lost all that weight.

  • I think they could have done this movie successfully without Christian Bale's emaciation.....you can really wreck your body doing that and cause irreparable damage.....

  • Womderful film. I'm not saying it's the greatest film ever, but very few films can match it for atmosphere.

  • why the f*** did they put that annoying flicker in????

  • Christian Bale was my inspiration to lose weight. I was overweight after graduation, at that time this movie came out, and what he did for that role is amazing.

He is the BEST ACTOR OF THIS GENERATION.

Also for the next movie BATMAN BEGINS he gained lot of MUSCLES at short period of time, HUH! What kind of Supplement he took, GOD KNOWS!

  • @childlogiclabs The Supplement he took is actually a formula MOTIVATION + DETERMINATION.

  • @childlogiclabs for fast muscle gaining the secret is not to eat 5 hours before you sleep, a well balanced protein/carbohydrates diet(smaller meals, 4-6 meals a day), little or no sugar, and more than 12 hours of sleep everyday. The key is long healthy natural sleep.

  • @childlogiclabs how much did you lose?

  • @childlogiclabs It's been done before by Arthur Jones in his "Colorado Experiment" with Casey Viator who gained 63 lbs of muscle in 28 days. Eating right is one thing, but where it really counts is just beating the shit out of your body. "HIT" is what they call it, High Intensity Training or muscle hypertrophy. It's really a 'no shit' solution to gain muscle but you wouldn't sell magazines and you wouldn't sell supplements if you didn't circulate the bullshit.

  • @childlogiclabs Is just dedication, mate. I know is hard being fat, but if you put dedication and selfsteem in that

    you absolutely could make it.

Is the same for gain muscle, just eat lots of times in the day and exercise very well after each meal

so you can transform calories in muscle..

  • This movie is great! Christian is superb, he should have got an Oscar fot it and Brad Anderson proves to be one of the most talented movie directors around. Recently I've seen "Session 9" too and, even if it's not as good as The Machinist, it's really worth seeing. I hope that the rumour about Anderson and Bale working together again in a movie based on Ballard's "Concrete Island" will turn out to be true...

  • Wow,what an amazing man,he was able to lose all that weight, and still manage to get thru the grueling filming of this movie. But,I can't help but tear up when I see him towards the end, sayin he just didn't eat,and then when he gets up off the sofa to stand,my heart just sank,he's practically skin and bones!!! Omg,thank goodness he didn't kill himself preparing for this role,he should have been rewarded for a performance of this magnitude, any other major actor would have been!!! Amazing man!!!

  • @Tgyrl66 you can't be serious, you do realise all of these celebs get paid for their job right? They shoot a movie then they go on vacation for months unlike everyone else. Why would bale kill himself for his role, what are you talking about? Anyone can loose weight or gain muscle if they have fat PAYCHECK in their face

  • @Swoop223 Well,u misunderstood my comment or maybe I just worded it wrong. What I meant to say,is that he risked his health and life for that matter,by losing such an EXTREME amount of weight. He was NOT required to lose that much weight for this role, they were willing to use makeup, etc for his character,it was Christian himself, who decided to take it this far! I disagree,I don't think just any celeb would risk his or her health or life for any amount of money, why?! Money means nothing if ur dead!

  • Some of the parts played twice, otherwise great video.

  • Christian is one heck of an actor
