Whatever people can find to say bad about Patch Adams, it's only ever trivial speculation that is completely irrelevant to and overshadowed by the good this man has done. Which, is honestly more than a lot of people have done, whether we applaud or heckle him. You probably could say a lot of the movie is fiction. I talked just last night to Patch on the phone. Patch was in the mental institute at the age of 17, not 35. He also attended medical college at the correct age, not in his 30's. He also was only a friend to the girl murdered in the movie, not her boyfriend as the movie says. The real Patch was down and out at 17 because he lost his father to war.

Patch Adams is obnoxious and self absorved. When he came here he left children waiting at the hospital, all in the end so that they would not see him. He yells at fans near him. He doesn't like to be talked to at all. It was a disappointment to find out what he does in the media is a pure act to keep up his reputation.
