  • Probably would have pushed him all the way to the graveyard on the right too. Irony.

  • They say every engineer at least one time they hit a person or a car. Wow that was a close one though!

  • That rail gate gone over the hood of her car.

  • that was classic how you guys laughed it off.

  • Women Driver Texting her babydaddy for back up child support, HA that's what she gets, I wish she would've got hit.

  • go go no.. retard

  • Nice buddy! What subdivision is this?

  • ...it's gotta be tough, those times at the throttle. Remember that schoolbus & AmTrak crash near-in Chicago ~12 yrs ago? I was drivin' home frm work the very next day- Following a schoolbus- >ing the Town Line Rd Xing-Alden, NY-CSX main BFLO-Batavia. Ther's a junkyrd w/pinetree blindspot there. 4 the bus- driver to see-s/he has to commit the front 1/2 bus into the elevated xing&over trak2 The lites lit & gates came dwn-on th' bus- Day b4 fresh in engineers'n'busd'vers' minds 4sure! Just missed!

  • Cool Video!

  • Conveniently, there is a graveyard off to the right at :57. If the car and train had hit, it would have been an quick, easy trip to the grave site. The body would still be warm, when it was lowered into the plot. (Well, I use the phrase "body" loosely. All that would have been left of this motorist was chunky salsa.....)

  • Just amazing how stupid people can be to not realize that a train is 500,000x heavier than they are and yet think they are just like cars and can dodge out of the way and stop right away. The lights and gates are there for a reason!

  • "THAT WAS GREAT!!!" That's what she said....

  • @wolevet97 Thats what he said...

  • I do feel sorry for engineers. They operate something which can kill people who don't respect it. And the problem is is that a lot of people DON'T respect it.

  • conductor should'a flipped her off.

  • @bloodypandahachiroku YEah, she was busy TEXTING like a bitch.

  • did that guy hit the lower gates? You can't be that retarded!

  • @supramanz It was a woman

  • oh the good trips through CP-87 to CP-90

  • the trqain is going too fast in the city linits. but the car driver is stupid for not being careful.

  • @graverobber35 The train is adhereing to the posted track speed in the timetable.

  • Did the driver back his car, or did they just miss?

Sun in driver's eyes - could not see the signal in time?

Driver should not be moving if he/she cannot see ahead.

  • Why are there so many dick licking toads messing with trains, it must really be hard on engineers and assistants.

Another person who was last in line when brains were handed out.

  • asshole idiot...

  • The cemetery was just down the track a few hundred yards, they could have had themselves an expedited delivery.

  • Driver blinded by the sun and did not see the lowered crossing gate until he drove into it? Notrying to beathe train.

If you cannot see well enough out of your sun glare-obscuredirty windshield to see signals or others, you cannot continue.

  • my god what is wrong with the horn?

  • @Liynkx Some jurisdictions petition to have a No Horn zone so people can sleep, and there are signs posted at the crossing that say "Watch for Trains - No Horn". FYI.

  • @gvtuber well I mean obviously they have a horn, but it sounds like a dying hippo.

  • @Liynkx I don't think it's the horn that's sick...it's just the sound of the horn bouncing off surrounding buildings and objects making it sound funny...if you watch other video's from the cab. the horn sounds very similar when going through crossings. Horn is fine i'd say.

  • @NismoFinder +1. That is ABSOLUTELY what it sounds like. I noticed the same thing in some (not all) of our widebodies, especially the ones with stupid window seals.

  • UNSTOPPABLE

  • Its Ironic that they pass a very large graveyard right after that car almost pulled out in front of them.

  • @GreatLakesShips yeah no kidding people who try to beat a train are asking to die.

  • @GreatLakesShips i dont get it

  • that was one fouled horn

  • I don't think he thought it was "great" as much as it was just a way to blowoff the built up anxiety from the near miss.

  • @conductorbill he wouldnt have to go back and investigate, police do that, and it wouldnt be his fault anyway... its not like he could stop for the dumbass, its a fucking train. he blared the horn, the gates were down, you cant blame the train operator. and liike someone else said, it was probably just his way of venting stress. if you were sitting right there and watched someone almost get hit by a train, you might express the relief oddly too. adrenaline does weird things

  • Lesson: Don't be stupid. Not only did you cause panic for yourself, but you could hear it in the engineers voice as well.

  • You won't get much luckier than that cause trains have a 3 foot overhang.

  • What'd they think the train was magically gonna jump into the sky over them

  • You know the guy in the white car crapped their pant's !

  • PLUS THAT IDIOT PROBABLY GOT THEIR MUSIC UP HIGHEST VOLUME LISTENIN TO LIL WAYNE, DRAKE, BEYONCE OR OTHER BULLSHIT.

  • That IDIOT was probably SOME BITCH WOMAN WHO KEPT HER EYES ON HER DAMN IPHONE TEXTING HER STUPID BOYFRIEND INSTEAD OF WATCHING OUT FOR RAILROAD.

  • how convenunt, there's a gravyard only serveral feet away

  • Close call!!!! If this dumb move their car an inch beyond there, the train could stop a mile away from the gates!!!

  • Another dickhead who thinks gates and lights are merely a suggestion to stop. He certainly would've deserved his fate if nailed. I also got the impression the guys in the cab would NOT have been horrified by the accident judging by their "that was great" and "woo hoo" reactions. Maybe being haunted for life by accidents is a myth. At least it is with that particular crew.

  • @sjtom57 Really? I think it's a pretty normal reaction especially considering that the stress brought on by the near hit was lifted off their shoulders. If the car had actually hit the train though I highly doubt they would be happy about it. Their behavior after the incident is a pretty textbook psychological reaction to stress. They were just coping.

  • Seriously, people don't 'get' that a train, hauling hundreds of tons or more of cargo can't stop or dodge them? WTF? Its simple... that much weight, at that much speed, can't stop. Even at 10-15 pmh these things take WAY to long to stop. Morons.

  • I seriously think the United States of America (me being a citizen) needs to push Operation Life Saver more. I think it should be a requirement to pass a 100 question exam about NOT CROSSING THE TRACKS WHEN THERE'S A TRAIN COMING when you go through driver's ed. :P

  • man that trains booking it

  • As a mortician, idiots are a complete mess to have to scrape up and put back together. It's mostly bag 'em and slab 'em.

  • He started swearing at him and then, he realized that he might be killing him, so he didn't think that we be a good way for him to be remembered. :P

  • So, uuuuhm, what the hell was that driver thinking? Perhaps he was saying to himself "what's this red and white pole doing scraping across my hood?" DUUUUUH.

  • That car driver must be drunk or high on drugs or even arguing on the cell phone because that damn Rail guard was down.

  • sadley when the time people finally understand why railroads say dont stop on the railroad tracks is when the either witness or expeirence a train vs car accident themselves

  • That's why people don't want to become engineers. Because of stupid people like that!

  • That's why people don't want to be engineers. Because of stupid people like that!

  • i hate stupid people they get whats comeing to them

  • nice. If he would have gotten hit. Would have been one less idot in the world

  • Driver blinded by the sun? Could not see the flashing (o)=(o)?

Idiot's mistake was continuing to move forward while unable to see.

Was not trying to beat the train.

  • @robertgift Even if you were blinded by the sun, I think a person would hear and notice the train coming. Or they could get sunglasses and use the visor.

  • @EricJP1 If blinded, they should not be moving until they can see what is in front of them. Yes, hearing the train's powerful horn should also mean something if approaching a grade crossing.

Sunglasses won't help. But a clean window and visor would.

(China denies [prevents] access to Youtube and Facebook. While in China, I had planned on posting daily entries in my Facebook account. Just retuned to the land of the free.)

  • We have so many close calls at CSX everyday. It sure beats riding along with nothing to do... It always wakes me right up!

  • When are these morons gonna learn? Just before they get hit by the train or when they get a visit from local or railroad police? People like that should not be allowed to get a driver's liscense!

  • cool a stealth gp38-2 nice catch

  • yes i saw the grave yard

  • He is lucky cause trains have a 3 ft overhang on each side past the rails.

  • Comment removed

  • I almost plowed into a cop car once. He was chasing the guy that also went around the gates. Almost had yourself some creamed Bacon soup.

  • rofl thats a fucking police car. has this been made public ?

  • Dolt driver had sun in eyes and saw neither signals nor gate?

If you can't see the child in the road in front of you, STOP YOU MORON!

Did vehicle back or was it barely missed by the train?

Yes, engineer must continue whistling for other grade crossings despite the distraction.

Thought he said "Urkel". Is that a TV character?

  • lol did he say "you fucking urkel?"

  • that looks like Kingston ny but not sure this is a vid. of the day in the life of a Engineer....

  • Could've ended up in that cemetary if lady luck weren't on his/her side!

  • The locomotive driver keeps whistling lol

  • is that you as the engineer or what?

  • Maybe just for a second they could pay attention more to see hundreds of tons of screaming metal that will send them straight to hell!

  • how interesting that the pass a grave yard

on the main. that person nearly put themselfs there.

  • Must be a fucking BABYMAMMA on the damn cellphone arguing with her BABYDADDY while she almost got hit by that train.

  • that dumbass! like he couldnt SEE the train coming?!?!?!?!?

  • Comment removed

  • wow I love trains as much as you do where is this and what line is it past and present?

  • Comment removed

  • A couple of people have said the gate was not down. The gate was down and the car actualy hits it. This crossing has a total of four gates. 2 on each side of the track. 1 for the left side of the highway and 1 for the right. All four are down in this video.

If you play it frame by frame from :43 to :45 you can see the gate (the one on the car's rightside) laying across the cars windshield with the car bending it.

  • Thanks, super.

Interesting that they have FOUR gates.

(Preparation to becoming "Quiet Zone" crossings?)

Idiot with sun in eyes still continues blindly forward and does not even see the operating signals? Great driving there.

A train can derail from an emergency brake application.

    Rare but can happen.

Once you hit a vehicle, it is likely too late for occupants.

Best to decelerate properly and controlled without derailing the train and making one death into possibly many.

  • @superduty7979 you gotta love how fucked up the crossings are in kingston ny. thats where this video was shot. just south of kingston yard. the yard engine on the left is the local switcher. probably the c 712

  • it quite convenient that there was a cemetery just after that crossing :P

  • I would have dumped it when I saw him stop holy cow!

  • 1. Why? It wouldn't have done anything.

    2. Why risk the lives of 1000's of people because of one person? If you dumped the air you could jack-knife the train, and if there were loaded chemical cars...

  • @trainman2816 How often do trains jacknife? Do you know how many times trains get put into emergency? From times like this or a air hose comes undone for what ever reason. Why wouldnt you if you hit the guy would you just keep going? Think about that.

  • What Im saying is that if you just went and put the train into emergency, the mixture of loads and emptys could really do some dammage. IF and only IF you bunch the slack first and then dump the air the chances of derailment are far less likely. And no they didn't hit they guy. The rules say that if you hit a car you MUST stop the train with consistence of good train handling, meaning bunch the slack first...

  • trains jackknife a lot,,,, in the movies, hahaha.

  • You wouldn't jackknife a train. That would only happen if two train collided and it's not called jackknifing it's called the accordian or zig zagging lol. The emergency brakes won't derail a train, bro. I would know. I have seen trains go into emergency and they don't derail.

  • Oh Fuck you assholes. You can't accept the fact that I'm right. Go to hell you damn foamers.

  • Excuse me, sir. Is there a call for cussing me out. I was nice about my post. Plus you are not right because I'm pretty sure that an engineer of all people would know the best. Thanks for beng immature and making yourself look like an idiot. You woul also fall under the category of foamer as well. You wanna play nasty, go ahead, you immature moron. I' not wastingmy time argueing with you cuz I have a life and alot beter things to do. I wont respond to any of ur comments, jerk. Bye!

  • How can you be an engineer if your only 18? You have to be 18 to apply as a conductor then work 1-2 years and apply for engineer. A train, under the right circumstances can jack-knife. The mix of loads and empties, combinded with the front of the train slowing down while the brakes setup on the rear can creat at slack run-in thus derailing lighter cars.

  • Never said "I" was an engineer. I said "I think an engineer would know." I said that because I have many engineer friends and ues I am applying at conductor. If there ar no openings, I will apply as a lineman then become a conductor, en engineer lol. Yes under certain circumstanes. However, if a train load can move, then somebody didn't tie it down or pack it in the car right (This excludes tank cars) but it can still happen, but rarely. Peace.

  • Well that is why people need to do there jobs and make the trains up right. And that is also why there is a Bail off option that you are suposed to use when you dump the air so the locomotives are not stoping the train the train is stoping the train. All it is well plain and simple common sense know your job and do your job.

  • Your absolutely right, and don't let these "railfans" tell you otherwise.

  • If you ARE going to hit someone, is it not better to do a controlled brake application than emergency dump of air?

Emergency dump will not stop train soon enough to make a difference in collision, but may derail the train.

Controlled deceleration will hopefully not cause a derailment.

Amazing thathe MORON would drive when he/she could not see enough ahead.

Riding bicycle or motorcycle into the sun, I am always looking that people behind see me.

  • why do you put a train into Emergency? Umm to stop the train as soon as possible becuase a incident like this. so should the train come to a controlled deceleration when the air hose comes apart?

  • If a car uncouples, unfortunately the train will go into emergency braking.

Heavy cars behind empty lightweight cars, such as flat cars, could moreasily force a derailment.

If you are going to hit a vehicle anyway, regardless of whether emergency braking or controlled braking, better to control stop than cause a derailment which could kill innocent others.

Moron could not see the train coming, but should have seen the (o)-(o) and gates and heard blasting horn.

    Idiot driving blind.

  • @robertgift The rule is that once you hit someone, you have to dump the air.

It doesn't always happen but if you don't bunch the slack in the train first before you put the train into emergency, with the mixture of loaded and empty cars AND the head-end of the train slowing down faster than the rear end of the train, the train can derail. It doesn't always happen but it can.

Enough said, this conversation is over.

  • My uncle, a steam locomotivengineer on the NYC, said "Don't dump unless you bump".

Yes, you want to compress the train so that slack action does not force a derailment.

He placed the train brakes on first.

  • An emergency application CAN derail trains and has happened many times.

  • alright then tell me some of the many times.

  • Driver must have been both tone deaf and blind.

  • Moron

  • iv seen this vid..didnt they have a law enforcemant officer ridin with them?

  • If it wasn't for the amount of trauma the crew would have experienced, I'd say they should have plowed right through him. The only way to effectively fix stupid.

  • would not have traumatized me much (this is my video under an alternate ego)

  • Toast?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • she should be at the place on the right at 0:57

  • i dont see it

  • Didiot driver back up, or was the vehicle just barely "out of foul" and missed?

I would have grabbed the camcorder and tried to point it back out of the left window.

    But probably not open.

  • Does anyone else see the irony that they passed a cemetary about five seconds after the car almost hit the train?

  • @elijahdl

    hey ur right

  • @elijahdl thats not what irony is retard

  • @lukesarres A thousand apologies for using the word incorrectly. But calling me a "retard" for it ... wow, that's just classy. Your mother must be proud. You should brush up on Emily Post.

  • @elijahdl About the irony statement: You're right. He's wrong. He's just too damn dumb to know it.

  • @elijahdl Sorry I called you a retard, my bad.

  • @lukesarres Irony, sarcasm and satire indicate mockery of something or someone. In this case death was mocked by presenting an image of the cemetery just five seconds after someone nearly died not too far from it. The irony lies within the fact that death was cheated out of another soul, which in fact makes that "retard" elijahdl right.

Hang yourself please. One less fucking moron running around thinking he's the smart one......

  • @Dresden1065 Sorry, but thats not what irony is. Many university students even misunderstand its meaning. And I, who did a phd in english literature should know better.

  • @Dresden1065 Sorry, I meant to say I DO know better.

  • @elijahdl Thats actually kind of funny. lol. I swear stupidity never ceases to amaze me. Hopefully people will learn.

  • @elijahdl Technically, it's coincidental. The correct definition of ironic or irony is the opposite of what you would expect. I got what you meant, though. It is kind of funny how that is so :)

  • @wolevet97 It's all good. :-) "Coincidental" is a better word.

No worries Luke, I'd rather be corrected than to be continue making a mistake. Apologies for not replying earlier; however, between work and the MBA program, my brain has been toast and I haven't been on youtube.

  • @elijahdl

    Awkward...........

  • @elijahdl hahah now that you said something!!!

  • @elijahdl hahahah yes!

  • @elijahdl no, not really... nobody even died, and even if they did, that's not irony

  • @elijahdl yep!

  • @elijahdl i just noticed that.

  • That dudes laaugh was funny. Ha Ho

  • get off the cell phone you bitch!

  • Dammit you should of hit him..lol

  • that wasn't nice!

  • lol

  • What part of "Do Not Stop On Tracks" do people not understand?

  • Upon second look, was the idiot driver unable to see because of sun in his eyes?

    No excuse.

Dumb woman ran a north-facing RED traffic signal because the LED lights did not melt the snow away.

    Moroness assumed her's was green.

Seeing her not slowing, I stopped beforentering my green intersection.

  • @benschlechter

Apparently, people are in a "rush" or "can't" read.

  • @benschlechter uh, maybe... "not" ?

  • @benschlechter they don't leave to stupid people and drunks to cross a track when a train is comin..

  • What did he say?

    "Ah, you fucking ----!" ?

  • "Ah, you fucking jerk"

  • Thanks.

    I heard that part.

Sounded like he said, " ...ing Herschel".

airnational, why do you reveal your IQ in your screename?

    How do you know female?

  • Actually You F-ing jerk off

  • "aw u fucking jerk oh no, no, no[freaking out]! fuck oh damn dude[relief]!" u guys must have really been relieved to miss that car. why do dumbasses like that continue to cross the crossings with lights/gates flashing? what pisses me off even more is that they do it with passengers in their car in many cases, risking the lives of others who are likely NOT dumbfucks. whats wrong with the ppl that do this all the time?

  • The train crew was relieved that they missed the car! Wow that was close!

You could hear their terror in their voice NO NO PLEASE!! They were laughing because they HAPPY they missed the car!

  • Did the moron back up?

By how much was he missed.

Let's see 10 minutes of such video.

    Thank you for posting this.

  • That person could of been to that place they passed by @ 0:57. :-O

  • Is it just me or did that gate not go down? Looks like its still in the raised position.

  • What you probably think is the gate is actually the crossing pole.

  • looking at it more closely it doesnt look like its down

  • Comment removed

  • almost natural selection there

  • Were you in an AC4400, a Dash9, or an ES44AC/DC?

  • Scrige, there are several crossing in the video you idiot. Go back to your quiet dangerious zones.

Nice vid and your reactions are priceless. 5*

  • dear god will people ever freaking learn!

im glad i got to see it from the engineers point of view

  • Sounds like a K5H horn.

  • you are an absolute freak.

  • now that made me want to work for CSX

  • Now thats sad.... Your a pitiful human being if you want to work for CSX so you can hit somebody and kill them... or at least come close.

  • u know what...its idiots like that that causes fatalities at railroad crossings. THE GATES WERE DOWN AND RED LIGHTS FLASHING. RED MEANS STOP!!!! what idiot wants to play chicken with a fucking train that weighs 100 times more than they do. i have no sympothy for people like that.

  • yeah, definitely. what i hate even more is when the dumbfuck drivers who race the train have passengers in the car. i feel major sympathy for the passengers, and the driver is a fucking prick for risking those passengers' lives like that, and should burn in hell!

  • Comment removed

  • I don't think your comment was directed toward me.. I said nothing about laughing.

  • I noticed tat the barriers were not in the down position. On the first and 2nd crossing. Am I right?

  • no... if u pause it u see its a pole.. the barrier is down

  • Ha ha ha!!!! You guys are funny!!!! Youtube has more drama than high school!!!

  • See this is why quiet zones will never work.

  • Idiot car driver. I mean flashing lights bells and barrier in the down position = er....DoH..!!!!

Check out {Kids on rail track} for an Ozzy version with expletives.

  • i don't have to use profanity, you sad little degenerate. you can go suck your post. and i don't give a care what you say, this IS a coherent thought. so go play with yourself. and remember, you have no life. :)
