@dmguru4u I agree -- great videos -- better than a lot of other videos out there -- but he should shorten some of them so they can go viral. I must admit that I found it hard to believe that an engineer would know more than me. But, my wife followed his program (against my wishes) and she lost 37 pounds, lowered her BS to 91, A1C to 5.2%, and BP to 110/70! So, now I'm a believer. My sister just bought his cookbook and says the recipes are really good! What?? An engineer who can cook too??? :-)
This report has nothing to do with drug therapy. Neither does-
Diabetes Solution, and the New Diabetes Diet, Dr. Bernstein's Low-Carbohydrate Solution, by Richard K. Bernstein, M.D., F.A.C.E., F.A.C.N., C.W.S., FACCWS.
Sorry, you can't pick and choose one carbohydrate from another. They ALL "spike" blood sugar levels. Low GI carbohydrates actually make things worse by promoting the formation of glycemated hemoglobin as measured by HbA1c levels.
Low-Fat diets have led to the obesity epidemic in America. Low-Caarb diets arre also problematic. The Death to Diabetes "diet" is a BALANCED nutritional program.
p.s. The New England Journal of Medicine
promotes drug therapy as the primary solution to our health issues.
He's a cross between Chris Rock and Dr Oz, because he uses humor and his medical knowledge to provide an entertaining lecture about diabetes. Someone should get him on Oprah!
everybody is tellin' me I should take medication! "medication this, medication that". Somehow I never wanted to listen to them. These vids are very inspiring and confirm my thoughts! plus he's got humour. thanx a bunch!
@LSecret I agree - his story is so inspirational AND educational! I've read at least 7 books on diabetes -- his book is so thorough! Other diabetes books help you to "control" your blood sugar, but his book goes beyond "just controlling" it, plus his book helps you with other stuff like blood pressure.
My doctor has reduced my meds, and says if I stick with it, he'll eventually take me off all my meds (for my diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol).
very entertaining speech!

It is very interesting to see that a very vocal "expert" on diabetic diets has gone "low catb". See Mendossa-
Diabetes Update Number 114: Low-Carb of January 1, 2008.
Also he recommends Dr. Bernstein
Dr. Bernstein's next LIVE Tele-Seminar is Wednesday, July 30, at 8:00 PM EST, 7:00 PM CST, 6:00 PM MST, and 5:00 PM PST.
Hope for diabetics yet

Get this man's book "Death to Diabetes" and learn the real story about carbohydrates, and the 7 myths.
I lost over 30 pounds, and got off the diabetic drugs following this man's diet after trying several other diabetic diets.
