first off you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. simon pegg co-wrote the film with michael ian black. simon pegg not only can deliever the laughs, he can prove to be an amazing actor. this film was a great comedy and romance. and it was Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis. and from the sounds of it, you have no taste in films and you probably like action movies far more than movies that people are able to connect with the characters.

i agree... i did find some things funny, like the fight scene between dylan moran/simon pegg's characters, and the puss scene was kinda funny (& gross), but it was very predictable and hollywood, and seemed obvious that it was written by an american (which isn't inherently bad, just saying the format and jokes and things were really obvious).

i think it's kind of stupid that you have to defend your review though, it's just an opinion & it's not like you said anything offensive.

i respect that some will like it but as i say it just wasn't for me. I guess some moments could be moving but i couldn't care for pegg's character. I mean this guy ran out on his pregnant wife and we're meant to

isn't that the case with everyone? People like what they like is all i can say. You're right in that i guess i have my favourite types (quirky, dark comedy) but i'm all for trying any type of movie, for instance i love Wes Anderson movies but my all time fave movie is Die Hard, far removed from Anderson's collection of films.

so yes i guess all i can say is that i like what i like but i'm willing at enjoy any movie.

I try not too, but i guess its only natural too do that. But i try to think of redeeming qaulities even if i don't like it (such as the music here on run fat boy run)

I completely disagree with your review, I'm no film critic, i know i loved the film and that it was very entertaining with good performances by all involved, and as you say a good sound track.

i'm no critic either, just saying what i like or dislike. Actually, the performances were solid, it was more of an issue i had with the script and direction which i felt was too mainstream and cliched, but the actors did the best with the material

oh they do for sure, i'm not doubting that at all, Se7en, Saving Private Ryan, Godfather, Die Hard so on and so on.

However some american movies that come with hollywood conventions where everything has to be all nice and dumbed down, aren't so good, and i felt this was one of them.

and lol i'm not saying i could do better, but this is a review and i have to criticize somewhere.

ah, i can where it might of sounded like that, and thats not the case, so sorry if it came out like that. for example if the movie itself (direction, cinetograhpy and mise-en-scene) had been great, and pegg had been the weak link i would of praised the movie, and made a point to say that pegg was the weak link . however in this guess i felt both aspects were weak links.

i'll have to disagree there, even though it may of seemed thats what i was saying, thats not my opinion. I love many american comedies, Dumb and dumber, office space, anchorman, spinal tap. the point i was trying to make was, well think of it this way, you could have a low budget heartfelt comedy (office space / dogma) then run fatboy run was like a super hollywoodized comedy.
