It is because of the mode (not the key!) it is written in! The Greeks had 8 original modes of muzak and some were forbidden to be heard by school children because of their intensity.
This is the first piece I learned to play. I wish you'd play the 'Prelude Modal' from Langlais' 'Vingt-quatre Pièces. I'd love to hear it on this wonderful instrument!

Good, but you should use other sounds/stops at each modulation as written in the score, then it gives a nice crescendo.
