@Queeen01 Waaliakum assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, actually the ayah refers to spouses, which can be husband or wife. So a sister can make dua to have a husband who will be the coolness of her eyes, inshAllah. Wassalam.

I believe it'd be best to check with someone more knowledgable; however I believe that the expression here is not "wifes" specifically, rather it is "spouses"; so then both believing men and women can say it.

For the dua, when he mentioned about the future generations, it reminded me of the dua the wife of imran made:

3:36 When she was delivered, she said: "O my Lord! Behold! I am delivered of a female child!"- and Allah knew best what she brought forth- And no wise is the male Like the female. "I have named her Maryam, and I seek refuge for her and her offspring to Your protection from the Evil One, the Rejected."

Why don't the traditional Deobandi Ulamas encourage the general public to get into the Qur'an, and establish the connection between man and his creator? This is what's needed. The traditional bayans are full of man-made stories and narration of dreams. This guy is revolutionary.

@mmhsfh That's a really good point brother. Deobandi's are generally involved in innovated forms of zikr and other baseless stories of their Ulema or sufis. Most of which they speak of has an underlying dawah to shirk. Unfortunately a lot people follow them blindly thinking that is the truth.

I have experienced that it is easier to give dawah to a barelwi (involved directly in worshipping the graves) and expect him to return to the true islam than these deobandis coz' of their dual nature..

My favorite du'a in the Quran is the du'a of Yunus alaihi salam when he was in the whale, and the du'a of Musa alaihi salam, the one he made after helping the 2 women water their flock.
