How reliable is the coil running with these settings (1000A OCD, 300BPS, 200uS)? I read your posts on 4hv, and I'm considering buying a miniBrute kit, but I don't want to waste my money if the IGBTs are only good for a few minutes of runtime total.
@Xkcdification Now that I've got the tuning dialed in, I haven't blown an IGBT. I don't remember the last time I blew them up, it's been years. I probably only run the coil 3x a year for ~5 mins total at a time, so I have about 45 mins run time on my current set. I don't even know if the 40n60s are still available, I remember them being hard to find and there was much discussion about suitable replacements.
@fthamilton89 If that's true, then it seems like those 40N60s can take 1000A OCD pretty well.... I'm just afraid that the 60N60s Dan is selling in his kits right now won't. I guess there's only one way to find out!

Yeah, the echo is coming off the neighbor's house across the street, even with the noise of a passing car.
