Nano pad's been travelling with me for more than a year, gets endless beatings and works and Dave is a serious fucking musician, who will kick ass on anything he gets his hands on and I am very surprised to see so many envious losers running their mouths here, they can all choke on Dave's dick (and try to find a better value on a pad controller) for all I care.
I bought a nanopad, it was broken when it arrived for sure, a quick fix later with literally no electrical knowledge and its now brilliant, nanopads are awesome in the long run after a short repair, get superior drummer 2.0 and its outstanding
@Gaia1986 basically, just unstick the plastic backing under the buttons, then stick it back on, needs to make enough space between the contacts so it doesn't stay on, check for videos on youtube, thats where I found out! :)
the thing is: he maybe the best finger drummer in the word. but theres a lot of "real" drummer which are so much better, which have more feeling and more musical skill then he! So, who need this guy? its like a banana whos taste like apple... so eat the apple ...
@rockrock3090 STOP HATING GIVE THE GUY CREDIT HE DID A GOOD JOB OF COURCE THERE ARE REAL DRUMMERS THAT ARE MORE AWSOME BUT FOR WHAT HE DOES 'IT WORKS FOR HIM.
how do i set the nanopad up with Reason 4.0's Redrum?
I have found this on some review-like website...
"Using the Korg Kontrol Editor software, I went back and reprogrammed it so that Pad 1 would trigger Redrum's Channel 1 sample (C2), Pad 2 would trigger Channel 2 (C#2), and so on."
I Did that but get no sound from it.
its not reason cos my nanokey works with it.
If someone could help a brother out id be really appreciative.
Record the nanopad on a subtractor track and see exactly which midi notes are sending out. Then mouse in some midi notes on a redrum track then paste that midi clip on to your subtractor track to see which midi notes are the right ones. Then makes adjustments using the korg editor.
I've just tried opening a subtractor synth but all pads on all (default) scenes produce nothing... even tried clicking that "lock nanoPAD to this device" tab and still nothing.
I see the software/controller desperate-ados have finally co-opted Mr Haynes...answer...NO, you can't play just like him if you buy what they are currently peddling...also, you never will so don't think this piece of gear/soft will make you better, it wont!
Considering 6 out of 9 units that a group of us bought do not work properly I am bitter too. Korg are not apologetic and insist we return them to USA (I'm in Australia but bought them in USA) rather than a local dealer. Assholes.
ok then fair enough but your timing is exceptional! im planning to get the nanoPAD neer the end of this month, do you have any recomendations as to what samples to get hold of? i know personal prefrence plays a big part in choosing.
If you like acoustic drums, my bet would be BFD I II or III, If you like elektro drums, I'd say N.I synthetic Drums 1 and 2. But then: You can make your own drum palette if you take the time to to keysread/spawn/choke/wtf work required to do a great velocity responsive sampler patch. (A DIY sampled instrument).

Haha John Bonham...i think he would be pretty bewildered by this stuff...and to be honest, there really isn't anything as rewarding as smacking a real snare drum...real drums have a dynamic/feel dimension that no electronic pad can ever replicate..
D Haynes has a great feel though, and is able to make those little pads groove like crazy...mad props for that :)

onizuka8 2 years ago
The subtractor note on light should come on if it's getting midi. Set it up with a normal midi keyboard first so you know at least that part is right
LucidDreamTricks 2 years ago
Also, you may need to change the midi channel the pad is sending out using the editor

A Nano Pad can't sound good or bad. It's just a controller.
It all depends on the samples on the other end.
