Turn down the music, please! When it comes on it just about blows my ears out! ;-) I turn it up when you talk so I can understand you better (my hearing is not so great at high frequencies where the consonants are at).
But great stuff! I used to work at Advanced Optics in Minnesota when I was in High School and ground a lot of flats and some curved mirrors.
9 minutes learning about something I'd never have gone out and searched for otherwise.
At any rate, keep up the awesome, über-informational videos. Who knows? I might need to create a parabolic curve in a telescope mirror someday! I'll know right where to find out how if I ever do!
Just wanted to quickly tell you that videos like you've posted here are one of the main reasons I think YouTube (can be) great.
I was looking at a thread on Reddit asking people what they'd make if they had access to CAD/CAM software, 2 CNCs and a shop full of equipment. Someone mentioned parabolic mirrors and how hard they would be to do and someone else posted a link to this video with the heading "Want to watch a guy doing it?" I clicked on it and spent the next
