im his grandaughter and i read all of the responses thanks to the nice people... im a prodigy for basketball and volleyball, but still havent master tennis. i quit but might start again. im nine now...
she is pretty good for her age but she isn't really considered as a prodigy. theres no top spin, her racket is going side to side not low to high, and she not putting enough swing to really make a WOW shot. she does have potential but to be prodigy level she should have been playing tennis like this since she was 4.
There is always pride in seeing your grandchild or child doing something they like. That is what is most important. So many people look at the strokes to early and have silly comments. A child who is clearly having fun, staying out of trouble, and learning is what is important! I wish you the best of luck young lady as I am a teaching pro in Europe and have seen many start like you, and make it big!

I have since worked with a few ATP and WTA players but have been diagnosed with a rare disease that has stopped me from doing much. Keep it up grandpa, she has intangibles like height and is lean and moves just fine. Is she as smooth as some of the "prodigies", not at all. But things change A LOT from 6-14. She ends up 5'10" and athletic and a 'prodigy' ends up 5'3" and slow, who will be the better player!
