Umm monica music was always real and spoke about somthin. Thts the difference between her and brandys music. Brandy is talented and has alotta good songs budd compared to Monica, she doesn't stand a chance. Monica's music has always been mature and grown up. Even at a young age. And Monica has sold more records than brandy, check the guiness records bitches!!

@Arden15yr - I know right. Bit scary... She was born in 80 and made this in 94. Very talented but a bit TOOO miss thang for a child. Maybe they called her miss thang cause she was too much for her age. She was VERY talented and beautiful, but I wouldn't like my sister to be that mature at that age!

You need to listen to "Street Symphony" by Monica. ugh, that song is so off the hook as well as the video!!! And that heffa wore the hell out of that damn dress there in that mutha ukkin video!! @juytrew While you may think Miss Thang was her only hot album. I have to disagree. Not only has she consistantly sold a good amount of albums thru her career. She's kept her connection with the people and her fans. It's not always about how big you celebrity is. It's about whether you can keep people relating to you. Something Brandy hasn't done I felt. Her celebrity became bigger than her music. While I love what Bran did artistically, it didn't always register with the fans.

@TT1478 I love both artist but I think you need to hear Brandy's bathroom bangers and as she got older as far as vocals. Monica is one of the best voices but she is not versatile with her music or style. Brandy shows versatility in her tone with many different songs as she got older Monica did not. In all of her songs she sings in the same key and stayed comfortable like that

@86dougedoug Monica will always be the soulful R&B diva of this generation. All the stuff that Brandy does with her voice/music, it wouldn't for Monica. People forget that every artist is different. Sometimes you have to stick with what you are and not go too far away from that. That's one of the reasons Monica has been able to stay consistant and have a loyal fan base. She didn't change what people love about her.

@86dougedoug While I'm an equal fan of Brandy as well. I enjoy the versitility in her unique raspy tone. However, she hasn't faired so well in the music department in the later years of her career, because she was sticking to the whole pop thing. We all know how fickle the pop audience is. Even Brandy herself said she was going back to her R&B roots. Monica is this generations Whitney/Anita and Brandy is the I haven't figured that out yet LOL. Love both ladies tho.

Her returning back to her R&B roots will be icing of the cake for her core audience. I am glad she is already making movies back to television everything is coming together
