  • Thank you for all the wonderful videos.

  • Mang, gotta go there sometime! :)

thanks for uploading this videos it makes foreigners bro in japan!!!

  • I like your videos! I went to Miyajima last summer and it was awesome! Do you still live in Fukuoka?

  • Interesting... never really saw my namesake before...

  • I went to Hiroshima/Miyajima/Itsukushima this year! I couldn't stand at the shrine though as the tide was high :(

  • how do you do

  • awwww i lived close to Hiroshima/Miyajima for the past year and just got back home two weeks ago... seeing this i realize how much i already miss it ♥

I saw you live in Fukuoka! I only went there once but really loved it! Maybe i'll return for my masters degree (hoping either in Fukuoka or Osaka) :)

  • Every time I see those deer I'm reminded of the footage of Nii from Girugamesh getting attacked by them. I'm not sure if that was in Miyajima though.

Also, who started singing the Momiji-manju song when they saw that wrapper? xD

  • i remember when my older sister and i were walking to the store, and we stopped when a deer appeared and we both stared at it for awhile as it stood still glareing into our souls XD i wanted to give it a cracker, it ran away :c i guess it only works in japan ^^;

  • I went there last year :D The sakuras were blossoming, it was beautiful ;) I also visited Hiroshima's history museum u.u very sad

  • "Get out of my crotch!" "HOLY SHIT!" haha lol

  • Ah!! I remember going there last year in June!! I loved going to the Momiji Manju factory and getting to try free samples. The chocolate-dipped ones were especially good. Ah... I hope to see that place again someday when I have the money and Japan is doing better.

  • why?

  • Miyajima is such a nice place ^^ Unfortunately when I was there it was raining.. But I will definitely visit it again! :)

  • ur too hot for your boyfriend

Thanks for sharing!

  • Awww I use to live in Miyajima-guchi, about a minute walk from the ferry port...

    I miss momiji manju :(

Poo I wish I was still there

  • What do you study in school?

  • @ParkLeeNa This semester I'm taking ギター、音楽理論、著作権利、バンド/インストロ、ボーカル and イアートレーニング... Guitar (Melodic/Harmonic Concepts), Music Theory, Copyright Laws, Band/Instrumental (Ensemble), Voice, Ear Training...

I was taking DTM but I dropped it this semester since I could basically just do it at home instead.

  • @ParkLeeNa Throughout one week it ends up being, 3 voice classes, 4 guitar (harmonic, melodic, technique seminar, songwriting seminar), 1 instrumental ensemble, 1 band ensemble, 1 ear training, 1 music theory, 1 copyright law.

Voice is like bootcamp, they say "if you're not in physical shape, you can't perform live", so they always make us sing scales and voice warm-ups while jumping. You sweat a lot.

  • i think its fucking crazy because i was JUST thinkin how awesome it is that yall are still together and go everywhere together. then that popped up. i dont think you should believe that rubbish. yall are def the cutest couple

  • Oh haha yeah that place is nice, but cold hahaha. The temple is also pretty cool with the red little red shrine/bridge/ thingy/pillar in the middle of the lake

The part where you said "get out of my crotch" , I lost it and busted out laughing.

  • @cloudstrifeification You can't really tell in the video, but it was a male deer ( a buck?) they saw off their antlers so they don't harm tourists, I guess. He totally made a charge at me that would have been dangerous otherwise.

  • @cloudstrifeification like it's more of a quick head-butt action, but in the next part where I'm talking (0:40), I have my hand on his head because he was still pushing towards me. You can see him kind of shake his head around.

  • @Ciaela

Good thing they do saw of their antlers or you would have been hurt.

  • Nice! Hope it's not bad luck for you guys, you're a great couple!

  • Get out of my crotch... holy shit! ahhahahaha

  • Hey there, I am new at your channel...found my way through BobbyJudo to you!

Really like the style of your vids!

spent some hours on Miyajima, too! Though it was a little bit too crowdy! Neverless it was a really wothy visit!!

Heard about the rumors...actually I can't really tell about a couple visiting Miyajima and breaking up thereafter. So no worries ;)

  • Oh man... that's my home. I can see my house from there. I'm on Miyajima up to 4 times a week. Please, please don't feed the deer. It makes them sick. They die all the time from tourists feeding them food, paper, anything. That hurt to watch. :(

  • @shortnsuite3 They were eating garbage, plastic, anything off the ground, and they were really aggressive. One was biting my sweater. I thought it'd be better to give them something real and digestible instead. :(((

  • @Ciaela Yeah, I know. It's pretty sad. That's nice that you gave them something digestible, but they eat that crap cause tourists feed it to them, you know? Sorry if I came off rude; I love my island. Hope you had a great time!

  • I love Miyajima. I've been there twice and it's such a great experience. Last time I went, I got to stay in a seaside hotel and it's just breath taking at night.

Also, kind of off topic. But the deer there were like crazy. I saw one of the deer actually eating a bike handle. o.o

  • I'm so excited

my very small school got a program to go to Japan next summer so

I really, really want to go

I have to raise 3,000 dollars before then soo~

I'm not sure i'll get the chance to go

but I want to visit Hiroshima! :D

    Wish me luck everyone xD

  • I love your videos! That was a creepy deer, though...

  • 5/5

  • Is Ryuhei your boyfriend?

  • Lol when Ryuhei said "We have so much big eyes" I thought it was a racial slur towards foreigners there. Lol engrish ftw huh?

  • Momiji Manjuu! by Aoi,The Gazette XD

  • I have the song in my head from your video now. ^-^

  • Niiice!

  • 0:42 Please have your foul language censored. :)

  • I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!

I also love the background music, it's so cute!

If just a location makes couples break up, then I must start changing what I believe was important in a relationship. Haha, I don't believe it.. Oh well, guess we'll see in a couple of weeks? :P

It's so cool to see Japan. I'd love to go there one day! At least I know of a couple of places now by seeing your videos :-)

    .

    .

    .

    .

    Boo! :D

  • <3

What else can I say ^_^

  • i been durr...we saw dis deer covered in blood and its face was torn out. Everyone was taking pictures til i started yelling at them to leave it alone. @_@

  • i really like seeing these kinds of videos. please show us more the beauty of japan ^^

  • Ciaela-sama : do you know why it's not supposed to be lucky for "couples" to visit Miyajima? Where did this superstition come from?

And what type of "couples"? Married? Courting? Human only? There seem to be lost of deer, some of those must be couples, ne? Thanks!

  • @Expresso98 You don't need to think to deeply about it. It's just something people say. I'm sure couples that go to the supermarket, or to the mall, tend to break up too. People date many times in their lives before they get married, and even if they marry, people tend to divorce.

I don't think it's scientifically relevant to location, how can visiting a neutral place influence a relationship so badly? It's just some myth people made up for fun, you don't need to take it so seriously. :)

  • Wow Miyajima looks great!! So beautiful :)

  • You are one hard working young lady, thanks for taking the time to show us Japan.

  • That is a beautiful place. :)

  • Fun video! I went there a few years ago and was blown away by the crowds! Too many people in one small place!

  • oh i LOVED momiji manju !

they also had them fried !! Those were the best.

Also i loved the tori in the water. And we saw a japanese style wedding over there.

All together the best place in and around Hiroshima i think.

Did you climb the mountain as well?

  • Love Miyajima. It's best during the Obon fireworks. Cheese momiji manju.... oh how I want to taste that again...

  • "get out of my crotch!"

and then it looked like the deer was chewing between her legs!

    lolwut? XD

  • Miyajima is a great island to visit. It is a holy place. You are not allowed to give birth on Miyajima and you are not allowed to bury your dead there, either. I had some great oysters there.

The only thing I do not understand, is why there are rocks placed on the Torii. I noticed that when I was able to walk up to it.

Anyway, I also took a walk up the mountains and had a nice view over the island and could see over into Miyajimaguchi.

  • @Theytoldmetodoit1 Rocks placed where on the Torii? Are you sure you're not talking about the barnacles?

  • @Ciaela No not the barnacles but on the cross beams at the top. I saw lots of rocks. Or if you like large stones. Not sure if they were put there by man or nature.

  • Donating to your cause! hahaha I love it! : D

  • I do love Miyajima. I took my parents to visit there a few years back. Wen't in summer though so the heat was a little overwhelming. You look like you went at a good time though. :)

  • what does Ryuhei mean?

  • @HarpSama It's Japanese for "HarpSama" OH! WHAT A COINCIDENCE.

  • @Ciaela lmao well played madam well played.

  • @HarpSama I looked it up. It means "good and flat," whatever the heck THAT means! I mean, would you name your kid Good and Flat? "Hey, Good and Flat, pick up your toys!"

  • @LordBalto Weird considering 竜(or 龍)both mean dragon. It's not about the name, it's which kanji is used in it. 平和の平 and 竜 as in year of the dragon.

  • @LordBalto sweet thanks :)

  • Very cool!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Ryuhei is too funny. Any time I see him on a bike now, I remember the outtake from the other video where he almost crashed both of you. He's like a Japanese "Charlie Chaplin" at times hehe.

  • How did you get money to live in japan like this? I just graduated from college and I want to study the language but its really expensive!

  • @VTnumb I had a job in Canada, then I came to Japan and got a job again. Money! I work Monday-Friday after school every day. Like, typically I go to school from 9-3 and work from 4-9 (with one hour to catch the train in between) every day.

  • @Ciaela wow that is really tough. How much do you get pay per hour? 1000 Yen?

  • @TheGhx I don't get paid per hour, I get paid per lesson. So like, I don't get paid for prep time, or wait time, I only get paid for the classes I teach. Anywhere from 1-3 classes a day. Between prep, cleanup, and writing reports for each lesson, it takes quite a while. Other than that, I always thought it was rude to ask someone about their income, I guess they don't teach that in other countries? Maybe it's just a Canadian thing, but I don't discuss money with strangers.

  • @Ciaela you just did...

  • @pyjamagirl15 No I didn't, I didn't say anything about how much I make, only that I don't get paid per hour.

  • @Ciaela Usually i heard people get paid in Japan by hours of work they done as the Immigration law state that those with student visa can only work up to 28 hours per week. I am sorry if i offended you because, knowing how much a foreign get paid in Japan is important as you can calculate how many hours would you need to work per day to cover all of your expense. On other note, asking about each other salary is quite normal thins in Asia.

  • @TheGhx Nono, like I mean, I get this question a lot but I'm always shocked because I was always told it's rude to talk about money. I don't know how much my co-workers make, whether they make more or less, I don't even know how much Ryuhei makes every month, and we live in the same apartment. I've never asked because it's none of my business. Not offended, I just genuinely thought that was a rule or something. Like how people shouldn't discuss religion or who they're voting for..

  • @Ciaela it's probably rule of the west, because as far as i am concern. A lot of country in Asia don't have that rule. Middle east, south east Asia, China and etc. Anyway thanks for your information :)

  • @Ciaela I've been in B.C. during 1 month (english immersion) and people are WAYYY much more "this-is-my-own-business-GTFO" than in Quebec. Dunno about others provinces thought. That made me think of japanese people at that time (not much personal questions).

  • @VTnumb Most westerners in Japan teach English. It helps to have an English degree, but any degree and being a native speaker of the language will often do.

  • Great video! And yes, I think it's bad luck.

  • I started googling 宮島 カップル… and then 別れる was a suggest search topic!

There's so much about it.... :/

Lot of people don't seem to believe it though.

But I dunno I'd risk it personally haha

I'll just go to 奈良 for my deer fix.

  • Causes couples to break up? o0......I don't want to jinx you, but you did seem more distant than in other videos.

  • Looks more like a small elk than a deer.

  • Well, you did get molested by a deer, but if thats the extent of the bad luck, Id say it was worth it.

  • Thank you for sharing wonderful video of Miyajima. I also went to Miyajima last month. Miyajima is a very spiritual place in japan where it is believed that Gods live. Have you tried a cable car going to the mountain? You can see many beautiful things there including wild monkeys, temples, views, bog rocks, etc. My favourite is fire that has been lasting since 1200 years ago!! "Peace fire" in the Hiroshima Peace Park use the fire as well. I would love to go to Miyajima again! Thank you!

  • after living in Japan, do you find yourself thinking in Japanese at times or still in all English

  • @selllout101 Well kind of. There are things that I can only express in English, and there are things that are quicker/easier said in Japanese. I have a habit of starting a sentence in one language and finishing it in the other. Some words come faster to me in Japanese and some come faster in English?

  • u two are sooo cute ^__^ I don't think u gotta worry about any bad luck :)

he's quite taller than u, eh.. how tall are u, if I may ask?

  • @totaldramaqueen108 I'm 5'4" I think. 162 cm tall.

  • nice video! i have never been there but i really wanted to go there. I was supposed to go with this girl but...we kind of broke up before going there. So maybe it is cursed. Or maybe I was just a douche bag to her so she dumped me. You guys have so much fun going to all these cool places. All I did for the long weekend is walk my dog. =(

  • There is the same rumor about couples going to Kyoto...

  • There is an awesome travel show with 2 Canadian guys called 'Departures' ... don't know if you've heard of it, but they went to this spot in their Japan episode.

It's a great show, you should check it out if you get the opportunity, VERY well filmed.

  • ciaelaaaaaa ur the best been watching u for years and ive alwaya enjoyed ur videos!\

i remember the first video i saw from you was hot make an omelette haha i guess i was hungry :)

  • @man5348 hahaha, I removed that video ages ago, I couldnt stand to watch it. I'll leave the cooking to.... other.. channels.

  • @Ciaela oh i see haha yeah i was just looking for it and its gone haha anyways good memories :)

    keep up the gooood work
