We had the worst floods in Cork City for 50 years at the end of September and a lot of people are still out of their homes for Christmas. Sad to see someones home being pulled down.
When I was 14 a earthen dam in the foothills above my home gave way due to days of heavy rain. It rushed past my house. The water was up to the bottom of our windows. A terrifying sight for a 14 yr old. No major damage except for mud in the house and block wall collasped.
