  • you are wonderful - to have posted this film. I have never seen it and am very much looking forward to do so.

  • This is now available on DVD from Amazon! Finally getting my own copy. Thought you might like to know....Thanks!

  • wow!

  • Stange as it may seem, you'll see echoes of both this and the book it was based on in the TV serial "Lost". At least I did.

  • 5:36 James Villiers AHOY!

  • Wilfrid Lawson Is my Nan's Uncle

  • one of John Barry's loveliest - and he had a lot of loveliests!

  • I understand this is out on DVD-I need to get it along with my other 60's films. "The Wrong Box" is hands down one of the three best comedies of the 1960's-the other two are "Bedazzled" (which just happen to have "Box" co-stars Peter Cook and Dudley Moore) and "The President's Analyst." Very shocked as to why Nanette Newman didn't get an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. This movie is a reason why 1966 was the defining year for film in the 60's ("Alfie", "Blow Up", "Seconds", etc.).

  • @HogwartsCastle All at one school - their parents each put up a share of the money. It's a Tontine ("named after Lorenzo Tonti, a Neapolitan banker", as Ralph Richardson's charactger points out several times :o))

  • Nanette Newman in her prime was the most beautiful woman ever !!!

  • Magnifica!!!!

  • Why is James Villiers not credited?

  • I remember screening this gem of a film as a projectionist at the Embassy Cinema in Tenterden Kent on it's release in 1966. It was a smash hit in the UK. Lovely music from John Barry.

  • superb upload. so many greats

  • Thanks for this, i haven't seen it in nearly 30 years, and finally it is available on disc in the UK- I ordered my copy today. Everything about this movie was perfect: the cast, the script, John Barry's charming score- just everything!

  • you can pickup a copy from amazon ;0)

  • I love you. I had this on VHS but it got nicked right?

  • yes, father

    lol

  • I've been looking for this for years!

  • ditto

  • At last so good to here this classic can be had on dvd.

  • Thanks so much! I saw this film in 1968, it is the funniest film I ever saw - I was laughing for weeks each time a scene came to my mind. :)

  • Good news. Seems as though Sony UK will be releasing the DVD for this in a week.
