This was nothing short of imazing, especially considering the pace of this piece and memorizing all those words in time!!..What a feat! The audience should have been on their feet whistling and screaming after this!
This is poupular type music at its best ....talent, musicianship, flair, swing...thank heavens this stuff is available in these decades of rap and all that crap.
She nails that high A at the end, but I think Laurel's just a bit flat in the first verse of this performance. Hey, that's a live performance, though, and it's hard to be perfect all the time.
why do i see the x factor brigade squrm and hide around the corner. the fact is this is pure class. i think we have lost something over the years in music. i get more plesure waching things lick this on u tube than any crap around today. thanx for posting
AMEN! No doubt that she had many trumpeters trying to imitate that in instrumental versions of this! I recall that Laurel left the group following an auto accident. She is still performing, isn't she?
They are touring. I saw them at the Blue Note in NYC this past December. They are still swinging hard. Although a little less cutesy. More jazz singing. But they still know how to have fun.

Look up the words masterful, sassy, or audacious in the dictionary and it says "see Laurel Masse". Boy! what a voice, what a mover.

Listen for the impossibly high note Laurel Masse hits with ease (and perfect pitch) at the very end! Extraordinary!!
