  • what episode is this? someone please tell me! like respond to me dont post it cuz i wont see it

  • @mstar3000mmm Season 1 finale, "The Parting Of The Ways"

  • You're right, 9. You were pretty fantastic.

  • I miss Chris so so much.

  • The first time I saw this, I didn't get the enormity of it... now, rewatching it... I nearly cried. And then the Doctor pulled the "and so was I" out and I smiled again. I love all the Doctor's incarnations, but Mr. Eccleston was my first. He's special. :)

  • ..........new teeth....oh, that's weird.

  • Got here from Voldemophobia :)

  • if only david's had been like this.

  • David Tennant was my favorite Doctor...but you can never forget which Doctor started your obsession with the amazing show....*sighs*

  • @emmyrossumfn101 Amen, while many people consider David Tennant as their doctor, Christopher Eccleston will always be my doctor.

  • @DensetsuEX Matt Smith all the way.

  • TUMBLR.

  • Everybody loves Rose. Why???

  • @Carpediem72398 Maybe....because she's pretty and blonde?

  • 2:40 "oh damn the polyjuice wore off again.

  • David Tennt in a leather jacket?

    THIS.

  • PRETZELS

  • I was sent here by Voldemophobia, purely to like the Barty Crouch comment :)

  • @SuperHellooX me too!

  • @SuperHellooX Who's this Voldemophobia person? I should go thank them for my vast collection of thumbs.

  • @cheesepoofofdoom It's a facebook page that posted about this video! :) "Voldemophobia- the fear of having no nose"

  • @SuperHellooX Hah! That's awesome. Do you have a link to their reference? :)

  • Comment removed

  • I miss Christopher.

  • @caroou92 yeah, my favorite.

  • damn it, as soon as the daleks disappeared i switched to a new channel and missed this

  • I cried so hard when this happened. I loved Nine.

  • New teeth. That's weird.

  • Oh? Darn, hahaha. Who wins?

  • God I love this scene. Watching 9 go is like being at the funeral of your favorite great uncle after he died on his 90th birthday; sure it's sad, but you can't really cry because you're too distracted remembering what an awesome guy he was and how great of a life he lead.

  • New teeth, that's weird. Where was I?

  • Knowing that a Time Lord can regenerate only 12 times, does it mean that we only have 2 more Doctors to go ?? When the 10th Doctor "partly regenerates" touching his severed hand (in The Stolen Earth) does it mean one less to go ?

Gosh I really would have liked Christopher to stay two more seasons. He did a great, great job bringing the Doctor back after all these years wihtout them.

  • @Abbylongtoyou Im wondering if when

    *Spoilers*

River used all her regenarations to save him, all those got added to him

  • @Abbylongtoyou Nope, only one more to go since we have the 11th doctor now. Gosh I love the 11th doctor.

  • david tennat was the best doctor of the new doctor who

  • @john98777 No. Chris was. i know he did one year but i think he was the best doctor of the new doctor who. I just think david was a let down after season 4.

  • For me, doctor who ended when Rose left

  • I really don't feel Eccleston gets enough credit, he was a fun doctor who really did a great job bringing the series to life again after all these years. I can't say I have a favorite Doctor, but 9th was my first, and I'll say he was my Doctor.

  • @ZombeWthAJetPak He was more than fun, he brought wonderful gravitas to the role. It must have been intimidating trying to resurrect the character after so many years, with so much riding on you and so many ways to be overshadowed by the legacy of the old show, but Eccleston showed great range and depth; clownish but grave, compassionate but angry, fun-loving but troubled, idealistic but, paradoxically, also cynical. It's a shame he didn't stay on longer.

  • David Tenant... in the 9th Doctor's clothes... It's just, wrong.

  • its funny how when Christopher regenerated they put happy music, but when David regenerated they put powerful, emotional, orchestral, sad music with the TARDIS on fire. i like both doctors, David being my first and MY doctor. and i think maaaaybe some people down at the DW studios might like David better. :) lol just my opinion

  • @sokmonkeys I just think this scene was filmed before the makers went mad for orchestra and couldn't let ONE SINGLE SCENE go by without murdering it with over-scoring.

  • I adore this series and matt smith is a really great actor!

  • i liked this doctor. :(

  • when i first saw this in 2005 i was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAAAAY

  • @TECNO1BOY Tennant Fangirl much?

  • @TECNO1BOY Are you joking, he was the best.

  • @scrupuloussam That's arguable. But where do I have my say? I didn't even watch the 9th Doctor.

  • @TECNO1BOY Tennant will always be my Doctor, but Eccleston rocked. You don't know what you're talking about

  • Best Doctors evar.

  • Looks like Barty Crouch Jr.'s polyjuice potion wore off again.

  • @cheesepoofofdoom 100 British Points.

  • @Alanthos17 Yay, I win! :D

  • @cheesepoofofdoom Sorry, but no. A guy got several billions by answering the Oldest Question In The Universe, Hidden At Plain Sight, in a very nerdy and British way. Keep building your way up, though! XD

  • @cheesepoofofdoom

And he got over that habit of his of hissing like a snake.. And you know he cried when he read the 7th book.

  • @cheesepoofofdoom You just made my day!!

  • @Bellamort25 HI! I am......Lupin.

  • @timelordstudios100 Hey (Bellamort, though you worked that out for yourself!)

  • POTATOES

  • @Bellamort25 Yay!

  • @cheesepoofofdoom THANK YOU. Thank you for reminding me where I've seen this actor before!

  • @RageCowProductions You're welcome!

  • barcelona, the planet barcelona, it's got dogs with no noses.

  • when david tennant hit this stage it was so much sadder D:

Kudos to the 9th doctor for playing it off like a boss.

I salute and miss thee. T.T

  • my favorite doctor <3

  • New teeth. That's weird.

  • I'll really miss 9. I love 10, but 9 will always be my first. I cried when this happened, and always will right here.

  • I love christopher ecclestons voice so much. Even more then matt or david.

  • I definitely agree with those who are saying that Nine was underrated - he was my first Doctor and I have to say that although I absolutely loved Ten and he, in many ways, defined the Doctor to me, I never quite felt the affinity that I felt with Nine. Nine was gritty and deep and fantastic for that reason. I do not dislike any of the Doctors (because they are all the Doctor), but I can't help feeling that Eleven has been let down by bad writing, even though he has enormous potential.

  • @TranscendentLion In a way I think this can happen with a LOT of Doctors. :/ Eccleston was lucky to be there during a time when they were determined to make it good so he got chunky good stories, then Tennant got the 'well we're good now, it's fine.' and Smithy's is... Well tonally it's very jumpy. (Just wanna say I love Doctor Who, love all 3 of them, I just can form opinions and have preferences, but love 'em all. ^_^ )

  • @sylictic Yeah, I would pretty much agree with you there. The episodes and stories for Nine were coming from writers who wanted to start the reboot well, and I think Ten slid a little (going through three companions over as many series - hmm . . . . - and I think Donna was an awful companion, but that's just my taste :P) but overall kept it together well. I agree, I love all of them for different reasons, but yes, I do think Eleven could be much better. :)

  • They should totally do another episode like the episode The five doctors where all the five doctors met, it would be fucking awesome seeing Eccleston again.

  • Chris was the most underated doctor if he has a series where he meets the master that would be great.

  • Probably my favourite regeneration: the drama and the heart in this scene is just brilliant, and this was a fine way for Christopher Eccleston's Doctor to go: the way he is so cool about it, not sulking like Ten-Eleven (which I feel was an unnecessarily sentimental way to finish Ten's brilliant tenure). And if he absorbed all the energy of the Vortex and expelled it over the next episode, could it not be in space somewhere and constitute something in the future?

  • @TranscendentLion It just represents the Doctor's feelings on their own incarnation. The Tenth Doctor was very fond of himself (note that he prevents himself from regenerating the first time because of an ego issue) and that's why it was more drawn out, along with the companion reasons and stuff. Plus the Tenth Doctor was all alone when he regenerated because all his companions had someone else. The Ninth Doctor was trying to comfort Rose is all. Regeneration isn't pleasant.

  • @TranscendentLion: I agree that the 10th Doctor was brilliant (♥), but his parting ways (so to speak) was excellent and rightly sentimental. He says in the end that he doesn't want to go because he's done and seen so much in that regenerated form and to lose that self for a new 'him,' is frightening. Crap, I don't know, the Doctor is complicated. :O

  • He looks good in a black suit

  • New teeth. That's weird.

  • Like this is it put a smile/mad you laugh when the doctor said

I sang a song and the daleks ran away!

  • what was the song at 2:20

  • moi j'adorai david... maintenant matt est pas mal non plus!!!

  • This is a proper regeneration, Not all pouting around and making everyone feel sorry for you before you dramatically die-- Oh wait, the doctor didn't die, he just REGENERATED. Way to be a selfish vain prick, Ten.

  • @1451tyler But when a time lord regenerates, everything about that last person dies. They change completely. The 10th doctor even did his quirky things to be closer to his 5th self because that was his favorite, but not completely because they CHANGE. I'm sure you wouldn't want to die and then let someone walk away with YOUR experiences in life and those sad moments you had. No one truly wants to die, so the day he regenerated the 10th him died. I'm sure the 11th doctors will be just as sad.

  • What i thinks funny is that the 9th doctor really lived the longest because between the 8th doctor back when the old show was playing and the 9th doctor hes just been chilling for a while, David Tennant dies pretty fast compared to Christopher Eccleston.

  • Oh leather jacket (/'3')/

  • Oh, I've loved all three. Eccleston, Tennant, and Smith...I get attached to each one as they come along. Of course, I also love Tom Baker...

  • thumbs up if you want to be able to regenerate

  • @LTGeraldo Screw this body, Imma 'kill' myself! *regenerates*

This is a way better body! :D

  • @LTGeraldo i can. it called cellular regeneration.

  • @LTGeraldo I wish to replace Matt Smith as The Doctor in Doctor Who LTGeraldo because its so cool.

  • Does anyone know what the song is called when he kisses her? I LOVE that song!!

  • Damn it ninth doctor, they should have gave him 2 series at least, but just 1 series is stupid, HE WAS AWESOME.

  • Is it me, or do they keep getting younger/better looking? I'm half expecting the next doctor to be Mat Baynton or something.

Wait, that would be fucking awesome.

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!! DAVID TENNANT!!!!

  • Best Doctor Ever!

  • @ajman955 I was glad to see 9 go and get David!!! I know I'm so evil.

  • "That's right. I sang a song and the Daleks ran away."

  • 9th doctor was great but my personal fav is the 10th

  • Is there a story or reason as to why Eccleston only did one season as the Doctor?

  • @crazi88s He hated the ‘politics’ on set and suggested there was bullying by senior staff members

  • @crazi88s all the doctors have one season

  • @MrZacattack4 really? because didn't Tennant get 3 seasons and Smith is going on his 2nd and 3rd also?

  • I miss Chris Eccleston sometimes

  • I remember watching this scene for the time UTTERLY confused because it was the first time of learning about Doctor Who and I didn't understand why the show would stop at one season if he's gonna die, having no clue that this show has been on since 1963 and that by "dying" he was gonna regenerate into a new man. So when David's face came on the screen my reaction was... "WTF?" Thus the curiosity and David Tennant made me into the fangirl I am today. ;)

  • i love matt smith

  • So where was I oh right...I don't want to go.

  • I love how Nine changes into Ten with a smile on his face, boldly going into his next great adventure. How he talks to Rose and shows how he was planning on taking her so many places. How his last words were meant to reassure her... and himself. Ah, Chris! TT-TT I love Nine. I truly do. I love Ten (David) but his regeneration scene did not have the power that this one did.

  • Out of all the Doctor's regeneration this, the third and the fourth Doctor's regeneration I think are the best.

  • I love Eccleston as the Doctor so much!!

  • @MrsHoek yay another Eccleston fan!!! why is our race extinct in comparison to the Tennant fans!?!!? (but i love tennant as well)

  • Oh, goodness... Bye-bye, Christopher Eccleston. ;-; I love Rose and the 9th together. :)

Oh, well. Here's to David Tennant. :D

  • i like this regeneration more than davids into matt because you saw chris grow into david's face where with matt it sort of just appeared

  • lol the end made me laugh so hard!

  • it seems as though people who talk about doctor who dont care much for the first doctor and everyone's favorite was the second. i loved chris and i love matt! david i love but not as much as matt

  • This is when I started watching Doctor who, great Doctor aswell, and to make it better, watching and finding information about the old Doctors was great!

  • You never forget your first doctor....

  • 22 ppl changed

  • He was my first Doctor ..always special..I love all of them

  • Enter your text here.

  • I died of joy spasms when he *SPOILER* kissed her in the scene before.

And then I died of joy spasms again at this scene...

All the while still having tears on my face from his "farewell" to her earlier in the episode...

THIS SHOW=BLAST OF PURE AWESOME TO THE FACE!

  • @CYBERDOODY: Admitting that you don't want to die doesn't make you a weakling, and I don't personally think it was out of character. I personally think that both went out their own appropriate way.

  • He wasn't just explaining it to Rose he was explaining the process to new Who fans as well.

  • Christopher Eccleston was my first and favourite doctor.

  • he was okaaaaaay not as good as david and eleventh dr.

  • haha i do like that eccleston was smiling tho. tennant was screaming when he regenerated

  • @ButterflyofOceans Granted, the 10th doctor was completely alone when he regenerated. The 9th had Rose there watching him. He didn't want to go either, that's why he seemed so sad.

  • 9th Doctor: When out like a boss

10th Doctor: When out like a wuss

  • @CYBERDOODY I think tennant went out very well but sadly! I like Eccleston and Tennant

  • @ButterflyofOceans Yeah but the whole "i don`t wanna go" thing was way out of character and he went out a weakling but the 9th Doctor went out strong

  • @CYBERDOODY true true. I think he had kind of found where he was comfortable and thats why he flipped out lol

  • He was my doctor!

  • one of my favorites. he made me love bananas.

  • "I sang a song and the Daleks ran away" *smiles*

  • Does the Doctor remember everything from his previous incarntion?

  • @1duckclub yeah

  • @1duckclub yeas

  • @1duckclub Yes. Just a different perspective on things...

  • yay David Tennant <3 I'm going to be sad when i get to matt smith's series. no more eye candy :(

  • @lissy1029 I can't get used to 11th Doctor...

  • @Petersaberros I couldn't get used to the 9th doctor at first, I was so used to Tennant. Then, I got used to Eccleston, and now I can't get used to Tennant again.

  • @stopeatingthepizza I know the feeling, but... there is just something wrong with the 11th.

  • @lissy1029 really?? i think matt smith is way more attractive than david tennant.

  • @lissy1029 9>10 ^^

  • @lissy1029 Maybe you should turn lesbian- then karen gillan can be your eye candy ;) (jks)

  • when he said i might have no head i just tought of when matt smith was playing the doctor pretending to be a headless monk

  • Matt was my first doctor, but Chris is my favorite. I think it's the smile. <3

  • Such a pity. Rose had much better chemistry with 9 than with 10.

  • ".......New teeth..... That's weird..."

That part cracks me up SO MUCH. Which is a good thing, because I'm BAWLING by the time it happens. Ohhh, Christopher. You were a FANTASTIC doctor!

  • I think they overdid the regeneration effect, It was explosive and gold since he absorbed the Time vortex. But The other doctors + the master had it. I think they should have gotten traditional regens.

  • @Vaxonblue the tradition regens are boring. they just change their face with no effects at all

  • Fantastic!

  • The 9th Doctor was my first Doctor, so he'll always be special to me, even though my favourite Doctor right now is Four. :P

  • he was acting realy good when he regenerated

  • I swooned when I watched this.

  • Eccleston' performance there was staggering. It was that moment, ironically, that I wished he'd did a bit more.

  • David forever!!

  • @wolfdefender01 Loser

  • @mellowNdark

    and proud of it!!!

  • your subtitles are annoying

  • Oh, Eccleston was my first Doctor. I thought he was brilliant. :( Wish he'd had longer as the doctor...

  • i get more depressed watching this than tennants for some reason. maybe cos as great as it was tennants dragged on a bit and dave went out like a girl. whereas chris showed class and dignity going out. that for me is how you should go. btw i loved both a lot. so i aint being biased

  • i love david<3

  • That was mean censoring his nose. Defiantely one of the best doctors ever

  • damn rose is hot

  • He does have big teeth! [LoL]

  • 2:29 best quort ever!

  • The 9th ,10th and 11th are the best doctors!<3

  • At least he regenerated with dignity! I like Tennant's Doctor, but his self-pity thing was kind of off-putting. I mean I get there was,"No one there for him!", but on the other hand, if there was someone there; they would have been injured by the exploding Time Lord or the collapsing TARDIS. lol

  • *creepy smile* Barcelona!!! <3 Tennant <3

  • team CHRIS! i want a team CHRIS shirt!

  • Ninth Doctor had such a short tenure, but that makes all his episodes so much sweeter in their rarity.

  • Best 2 doctors in my opinion love how they ended it was rly good

  • GAAAAAAAH I miss Chris's smile so much! It was just so adorable!

  • Regeneration!!!

  • I never want to see 'Team' anything--I'll start killing people. All doctors <3
