Huge fan of the original movie. The direction that the sequel went in is simply inconceivable. Highlander II has to be the biggest mistake for a sequel in cinematic history. It's a pity that Highlander II put the franchise to an untimely end. I really think that if the producers had left the original movie alone, and continued with the series (or a prequel to the first movie) then Highlander would've been bigger not only in Europe, but in the States and worldwide.
