That's probably cause the cats got yelled at, swatted at, sprayed with a water bottle if they ever tried to hurt the bird. Naturally, if the owners weren't there conditioning them, they'd eat the fuckin' thing without batting a whisker!
lol reminds me of my cat and bird. People ask me if they get along and I always tell them...like brothers... Those two are constantly arguing and bugging the hell out of each other. My parents call and they say I'm like a real parent cause I'll yell at the boys mid-sentence. the bird especially is very bossy and kind of a punk. and the cat just likes to mess with people.
I had friends who had a rabbit and two cats. Surely I thought the cats were gonna tear up the rabbit but as it turned out, when the rabbit entered, the cats ran out! LOL
that's funny how opposite nature sometimes is. When I had a cat and a parrot, the cat looked up to any opportunity to sneak into the room where parrot's cage was located. The cat would make its hunting jumps on a cage perhaps scaring the sh*t out of a parrot. While in your vid we have a parrot who bosses over TWO cats. lol
PLEASE IF YOU OWN BIRDS AND CATS DO NOT LET THEM INTERACT; CATS HAVE BACTERIA ON THEIR TEETH AND CLAWS THAT WILL KILL YOUR BIRD IF IT'S SKIN IS PUNCTURED. I SAW MY COUSIN'S BUDGIE DIE IN HER HANDS AFTER THEIR CAT POUNCED ON IT AND THERE WAS ONLY A TINY PINPRICK FROM ONE CLAW - DO NOT LET CATS AND BIRDS BE TOGETHER!
Cats do not instinctively know what to do with mice or birds, they have to be taught that they are food and how to hunt them. If they were never taught by their mother, they don't see them as food.
not all true, i have 2 cats and anything smaller then them and they are both hunting and killing it down...i had both cats as kittens. sadly they already killed my baby iguana....i guess it just depends on the cats personality =/
Ha ha... that bird rules! But seriously, I would'nt have her near cats. Even though your cat does not appear to be a threat, he could one day act out on pure instincts and hurt the bird. Just saying.
They've actually become great friends as time passed. The've often had more than enough opportunity to eat him but instead they let him eat with them. They give him a good bash if makes himself too much of a pest but they never really hurt him - and he just comes back for more.
and that is what happened to our budgie, he flew out of the cage, i have no idea how he did that, and our cat killed him. the blood was allaround the floor. never forget the instinct!
I want a cat like that one

Wow! The parrakeet OWNS that cat! Fun Watching. But the observations and recommendations of other thoughtful YouTubers i found sobering.

Who says cats are going to be the dangerous ones to birds. It looks more like the bird is the one to be afraid of!

It was already missing when I adopted him, must have been in some accident or something. The tail has since grown back fully though.
