@utubenotgoodasgvideo I love both versions equally except for this ones "starts a tune to the moon up above", which I think is better than the Greg Graffin version. But I do love both versions :D and I love Tank Girl :D
man i loved the Replacements, the first album, sorry ma forgot to take out the trash, it was such a great punk album!..wasnt much of a fan afterwards, maybe a few songs like waitress in the sky but, i pefered the early punk stuff. its cool though that joan and him did this

WHAT KINDA SHIT IS THISSSSSS????...OHHHHHH Joan!!!!...Are U high?????.... Is'nt this song from a Vaudville production from 1920...Like "23 Skadoo"..."Thats the cat's meow..pops!"....or "The cat's pajama's...Daddy- O!"..."Let's all go throw some dice and whistle it up!"..."Now yer talkin my lango, kid!"
Paul Westerberg was the lead singer and songwriter of the Replacements. He's been solo since the early 90s. He'll be in the RR Hall of Fame with the Replacements for sure. Never very successful sales-wise, he/they were American punk/alternative royalty and have been massively influential over the past 20 years. Joan does his song Androgynous.
I can attest to the fact that educated fleas do indeed fall in love. I used to have a flea circus and for a laugh I educated some of the more astute fleas. Their education lead to a boom in population and closure of my flea circus. I released the fleas onto the back of a librarians labrador, I hope for the dogs sake they give up on education.
I like this song better with joan jett and greg graffin. he is the lead singer of Bad Religion. the instrumental track and joan is the same. they just replaced the guy
Interesting fact: This song was originally recorded as a duet between Joan Jett and Bad Religion singer Greg Graffin. Then someone at Atlantic Records(Bad Religion's label) through a fit over the use of Graffin's voice, they deleted his vocals and added in Paul Westerberg's. The Graffin version can be downloaded through Bad Religion fan pages.
The Graffin Version is Also the One on Her "Fit To Be Tied: Greatest Hits" - one of the most classic greatest hits albums that should be in everyone's collection cause it's put together well as an album and doesn't sound like just a bunch of singles thrown together.
dude ... I was talking about this particular version of this song. Hence the further clarification about Graffin's vocals being deleted from the original recording.
When I saw the movie in the theatre,I thought Lori Petty sang the song.Cole Porter wasn't exactly establishment material in the early 1900's.Punk fits.
And Joan & Paul
