that is good news! make sure you know what you are are getting into man... Are you sure that way at the top of this society that they really aren't taking their orders from Satan or something? I'm no expert but I can tell the chain of command and authority doesn't end at the head of the local lodges, and the ones at the top of the chain are still the ones you are submitting to even if you never meet them.

You summed it up: youre no expert. Chain of command. There is no central "command" or any other kind in Freemasonry. Each state has its own Grand Lodge and there may also be Prince Hall Grand Lodges as well as there are in about 36 states or so. The authority for decisions in each Grand Lodge must rest with someone and it rest with the Right Worshipful Grand Master, and the Worshipful Master at the Lodge level. And as Masons, we submit to no earthly authority.
